Intro description:

Stargate: Extinction [1], previously known as Project Twilight, is the production name for the first movie based on Stargate Atlantis, which will follow the series' fifth season. Stargate: Extinction will air on Syfy, and will be followed by more adventures from the lost city of the Ancients -- if the first is a success.
The film will play into the established mythology of Stargate Atlantis, but the story won't have the burden of tying up loose story threads from the television series. It will be more like Continuum than Ark of Truth in that it will continue the story of Atlantis in a one-off offering. While the adventure will be stand-alone, the character moments will certainly draw on past experiences and future potential. While there is certainly potential for crossovers by SG-1 actors, executive producer Joseph Mallozzi hopes that the two series of movies remain distinct.
According to Joseph Mallozzi, "It's not so much an arc driven movie as an adventure that incorporates a lot of the back story elements that we've presented up to this point including the city itself, our characters, and some recurring characters. The movie will be better than season five." Todd is going to be in the movie. [2]

i dunno the ori turning up was kind of a wwwwwwwtf moment (that cliffhanger ending to whatever season that was) as the gould had become a bit of a lame duck.

continuum brought back some of that feeling that the gould were deadly aliens that could pwn us at will..

The same here, SG1 was awesome but Atlantis was boring as hell.

Atlantis had a horrible cast of aliens. Everyone looked human and, obviously didnt speak english, but the show gave no clues as to how they could. Plots were mediocre at best. Almost every episode appeared to be fillers except for season openers and finales. But even with that the show was a lost cause when they choose the cast of baddies and aliens. No room for improvement there.

I love stargate so I wish this the best but the future is with Universe or a reimagined series of Atlantis, something more realistic.

Guys dont worry, universe comes back on sept 28 for a 2 hour premiere and all will be good then... it will wash away this pathetic announcement of an atlantis movie. .

the ending to universe left me with a sad face

disappointed.

Season Finale, It will be back mate. And we knew the finale would end with a some death.
