Patron (Lysimachus) After taking a look around at his contributions, I felt that the member in question was worthy of the citizen rank. If you review the links he has posted, along with his threads and posts it'll justify my beliefs regarding this and hopefully sway you to vote in his favour. Personally i'm uncertain whether he would fit in to the Artifex or Citizen category in terms of his application but despite that I feel he has contributed sufficiently to warrant his ascension to the rank.

Today I deleted a message on a social group -

Those maggots should be crushed by mighty Lü Bu
In all honesty sweeping the obvious rivalries and tensions aside the use of maggots to describe any members on TWC is not something becoming of a Civitates.

    That Said

His modding tutorials outweigh this one example of bad behavior I saw and after skimming the tutorials I am ready to vote yes on condition that if he wins he is informed that Citizens are held to higher standards of behavior.
Well, if I, Belisarius, the Black Prince, and you all agree on something, I really don't think there can be any further discussion.

I'm tempted to say no right out because of that. Perhaps the only thing worse than have duffers running around disrupting the board is having another group do the same thing. Its childish behavior all around.

To be completely fair Ponti, this was only one post in a social group. We don't really go poking around the duffer's social group and hurl things back at them.

His Tutorials are nice contributions to TWC. I would like to wait a bit more before granting him citizenship. First his behaviour as you already mentioned bel, i have to say these last few months i have been disappointed in some of the citizens who raised in rank, there attitude leaves little to be desired and seeing this quote makes me wonder if he is ready for Citizenship.

    I'm looking to voting yes.
I don't think one statement should be that which denies him citizenship.

This. Would be a dick move. If he's as bad as people think this one line is making him to be, then no doubt we will be able to censure him for it.

This fellow would like this application to be part of the transparency trial forum. I'll move it there before I'm off to work this evening.

Having not heard the intonation of voice, this line could well be tongue in cheek, as noted said in a social club, not in open forum.

Does the contributions to the community for the moment outweigh what may well have been a mistimed, unfortunate slip of the tongue? If so are there other slips of the tongue that burden the application?

Given the tone of the social group itself, it is completely up to the user's interpretation. Some may find it tongue in cheek, as you suggested. Others would no doubt cry foul and demand an infraction for having a bally nerve (and perhaps they might even be right; I myself am undecided and am more leaning towards tongue in cheek) towards them.

Having said that I'm not sure if we should be holding this against him. He's a modder. Modders are a core part of this site. To be blunt, he has every damn right to be a dick if he wanted to. We have opifexes who regularly flame in their own mod forums and who manage to retain not only their citizenship but their opifex as well.

If the user had been a debater, it would be different. Any competent D&D person thing man would know that stuff like that don't belong in a debate, and will be infracted. However, as a modder he must inevitably be set to a different set of criteria than a different potential citizen. If his mods and tutorials are good enough, they are good enough.

That having been said, English is not his first language and he might not have even known the magnitude of his words (it's not my first language either dawgs). When I'm with German friends I spam German swear words. With Greeks, Greek swear words, etc.

In conclusion I don't think it should be held against him and why did I write so much>wait this is public

HEY GUYS VOTE FOR ME NEXT ELECTION XOXO

Works for me, lets see how the application itself pans out, and hope that there are no more...."Surprizes".

As an addendum to my previous post; modders have the right to have attitude, but this in no way, shape, or form gives them a form of immunity. If they flame, they get punished. If they post porn, they get banned. It's all in context. In this context it shouldn't be a big deal.

The member has been here for a good bit of time. As far as ToS violations go, this incident is a bit of a concern -- but not enough to end the application for me at this time. Of more concern for me would be whether the sum total of the tutorials is sufficient for citizenship. At the moment I am sitting on the line. I will need to review the tutorials further before making a decision.

The only redeeming feature of that post is where it was posted so I will have to agree with Mega's assessment of the statement. The modeling tutorial on its own would likely have been enough in terms of contributions. I'll think about it but tentatively its a yes from me. I'll look into his history more before voting.

He's done 4 or 5 units from scratch- models and skins for the Assyrian and Urartan factions. The fact that he makes his stuff from scratch should show that he's a dedicated modder. I'm reluctant to post pictures or the files themselves, especially in public, since this is a mod still in development.
