I'm posting this because my dream is a LOTR rpg The teaser/trailer I've seen is though a bit disappointing it does not catch the Middle earth feel for me.
So what do you guys think? Lotr conquest 2.0 (a big failure but still entertaining because its Middle-earth) or more like this mod that catches the feelings of Middle earth just right?
I hope this game will turn out as epic as Oblivion.

here's the new trailer for the War in the north
i think it looks pretty cool, but it still shows no gameplay
the old trailer can be found there, along with available info about the game.
as far as we know its gonna be a lord of the rings RPG game based (surprise surprise) in the north, e,g eriador, gungabad, etc.
i think it shows alot of promise as the studio who are making it have made soem pretty good games in the past

It looks interesting, I'd love to see where they start to go with it.
From what I read, it will focus on the story during the War of the Ring, but in the northern regions.
If that is so I'd love to be a part of the battle for Dale and Eredor, the forces that attack Mirkwood and Lorien. I always wanted to explore those places and events in LOTR.
The only thing that makes me a little nervous is its statement to focus on cooperative gameplay. I mean I have the friends that would enjoy playing, but I'd also like the system to hold up if it is just myself playing.
If I remember correctly it will be like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. The camera will most likely be seen from a birds view. Gameplay from Dark Alliance 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDkd-xa_-xw
I was hoping for a game that was pretty close to Oblivion myself, but the Dark Alliance games are great too IMO, especially playing on split screen with a friend
It will be exciting to see how this game turns out.
Let's just hope it does not turn out as bad as LotR Conquest
I think, when your playing as the human character, the focus will be on the dunadain fighing the OotMM etc, i dont think you'll get to play as a man of Dale, but i'd say the battle of erebor would definatly be incorparated when you play as the Dwarfs
BS. They have released no further info of the game yet. But i hope it will be more immersive than that.
Yeah, I know, sorry about that. I had read it on a game review site that it would probably be like dark alliance. But even though it's not stated that it will be like that I still have a feeling it will.

Okey I read some info on the site and their is not stated anything about the birds view. What is stated about Baldur's gate: Dark alliance is that its made by the Snowblind team its just to show that they have experience with rpgs I think.

When you started with the earlier RPGs for the PC and gotten used to Baldur's Gate that way, like me, the Dark Alliance games tend to look like ...

Arght not Oblivion, not an empty shell loreless , finger skill based game wanna be RPG, more like Morrowind please, full of lore, twisted plots etc..
The teaser was standard action movie hype with a generic "epic choir". Tells us nothing basically. I hope it's good but considering this studio's background I fear it may be too "consoly" for my taste.
A dungeon siege perspective Yes I do like it but Oblivion first person third person is much better imo.
yeah i find first person combat is waaaaaaaay more immersive, eg, Oblivion, Thief 1/2/3, Might and magic dark messiah, mount and blade, they all had FPS melle combat that worked a treat.
i like dragon age perspective, it can me as seen in the video but also a "WASD" style, not exactly first person, but i like the option where both of those perspectives are useful and don't ruin anything
