Default Roem Total War On Laptop?

I purchased a compaq presario CQ62-238DX Notebook yesterday.

So i installed rome and it plays with no problem, even better then my desktop. Only problem i have is that the game is not taking up the entire screen. Its like In the center and i have like two black sides on the left and right.. BI've tried running it maximized mode but that didn't help at all.. I'm using Windows 7.. Anyone had this problem before or know a solution i can use?? Thanks in advance.

Your screen size is probably not supported by the game. I have a similar laptop and I get the same problem when playing games on it.

well I think you can change it to the exact resolution in the preferences but it may only work with mods I'm not 100% sure.

Personally I'm fine with the lower end resolutions. But I have a low end laptop
