    Default popularus trait

172 bc is fast approaching in my romani campaign and I want to make sure that I get the marian reforms asap. the issue Im having is that none of my current family members have the combination traits of sharp/charismatic/vigorous and also have the popularous trait.

so my question is, is the popularous trait something that can be gain through battle and conquests or is it dependent on weather the family member is a plebian or a patrician.

    thanks.

It's far more likely that your Family member becomes part of the Populares if he's Plebeian by birth... Of course, probably most of your FM's are patrician, that's why it's hard to get a populares trait.

You can't get it in battle. It's a political affiliation. I suggest you adobt every plebeian that comes to your way, and stop adopting patricians. Hopefully one of them will be S/C/V, and have the rest of the needed traits.

The Marians are quite hard to achieve, but you get a satisfying feeling when you do

Plebeian and a temple of Ceres helps IIRC, also not fighting sieges increases it also AFAIK.

k thanks for the info my faction leader actually has all the traits nessesary he just recevied the reformer trait unfortunatly its 195bc and hes 62 so the odds of him making it to 172 is slim so Im trying to build a new heir who has the traits unfortunatly the only people I have who are s/c/v are patricians so IM counting on the grand children of my faction leader who havent come of age yet as they are my only plebian bloodline. I usualy dont adopt beacuse the charaters tend to be old but Ill keep my eyes open for a s/c/v pleb

Just to clarify the popularus trait can be gained correct? as in he does not have to be born with it?

Nope... He gains that trait later on in his life.
