General Sniped By Canon!

Okay, maybe it was a one really lucky shot or maybe it happens some people more often, I don't know but it happened for me for the first time and I was totally shocked, when I heard that "Enemy general lies dead" exclamation at the very begining of the battle (before even our armies clashed) I immediately paused the game and traced the canon smoke to the dead enemy general and couldn't help but laughing out loud. And I thought I had to share this with you.

I've had that happen as well. I was sieged by two full stacks of mongols. When the battle started though I got the message that the enemy's reinforcements had been delayed. When they finally appeared a while later, their general got 5 feet within the red battlefield boundary when a cannonball from my cannon towers bounced along and took him out! I couldn't believe it! I laughed maniacally when that happened

Looks like he has pretty low settings already, I don't think increasing the unit size will help .

Nice shot though. That crew deserves a medal, if they don't get blown up the next time they fire of course.

Unless his rig can't handle it in which case he won't even be able to play a battle.
I hate it when peopple just assume you can run everything on max just like them!

Haha yeah, this battle actually is one of the battles started by William Wallace, Scots had three major army force, two army led by a familiy member and a captain, and another led by Wallace. I crushed Wallace just before this one with another army, and then immediately attacked the other two. So yeah, their spirit of independence were crushed after this battle

I know but my system is a bit slow, it's actually because I'm using a laptop for now and it gets super heated and it effects performance pretty badly so I'm stuck with lower settings until my desktop PC is fixed But it's still not an obstacle for experiencing great battle moments after all

I remember stuff like that from Rome, when my allies shot the three besieging generals with some onagers. Not bad at all, since they were using flaming ammo. In MTW2 it hasn't happened more than once to me, though.

Personally I just don't like this option, I find the map too crowded with that option

That happened to me as well, but the other way out, or should I say AI sniped my general... and it wasn't just once...

In city seiges I often have cannon , once they have finished there work on gates and walls, target the tops of walls facing the town square in the hope that a random miss shot will take out a rake of troops or general, after this happen for me before by chance. I love torching the enemy general with magonels in fie battles. Diggley diggley. Happy days once we have pieces in the field.
