    Default blockading....?

i just started playing this mod, and i must say that in the starting at least the economics are a bit unrealistic/unbalanced, since you get put into a massive debt at the start unless you go on a selling/disbanding spree.

anyway, i would like to know if naval blockades are worth doing... since the AI gets their money using scripts anyway and not by the normal ways. what about blockading independent states? common sense would dictate that since the port is one of their only ways to trade/gain income, it should be very effective in destroying their finances/getting their troops disbanded.

In many cases blockading their ports encourages the AI to build themselves a mighty naval force and attack you (and blockade your ports, and that is something you probably notice). Furthermore, if the AI has some fleets the chance that it will start a logical naval invasion is increased.
So yes, besides role-playing issues, it does something.

Are you serious Xsamatan? If I knew that I would have blockaded every port in the medeterranean as the Romani! I read blockading ports was kind of cowardly so refrained from doing it, but I would love to see some naval invasions/enemy fleets roaming around!

Oh I remember the day I met those mega-massive-gigantor 5000 men ships of the Ptolemies... what a day that was!

Thats the way I noticed it and although I don't have sources at hand some others seemed to have had similar experiences.
