    Default New unit balance issue, units are overly immune to axes

    My units are overly immune to axes. It is as if the axes can't reach them or something. Swords and spears work fine against them, just not axes. They are spiders but they are considered elephants to the game, I am guessing them being a mount has something to do with it. I am also guessing it is a radius issue, alas I am still new to this so I require assistance to solve this problem.

    I don't think that this is a scripting problem, but rather one that has to do with the models or their animation.

    From the scripting perpective, what results do you achieve in test battles with about equal units armed with swords and axes?

    It will be caused by a missing animation type in descr_skeleton.txt:

    eager_attack_centre_overhead_c_stab_fail
    eager_attack_centre_overhead_c_stab_success

    DLV had a similar bug before I squashed it.

    Are you saying all the axe/mace units in the game are missing the animation? Or do I add that to my units animation? Just to be clear my unit does not use the mace animation, I am testing my units against pre-existing units.

    I don't know much about vanilla's settings.

    But if the correct anim type is available then soldiers can attack mounted units.

    BTW you can use whatever animation you like for it.

    Not if they already have them. If they already have them then it's not the same problem I've solved before.
