In the middle east recently during Ramadan (time of year of series premieres their) a bunch of new anti-terrorist TV shows have started up. These are dramas simular to, for example, 24 in the US that show the dark side of terrorism that some people think are ignored in the middle east media. One show shows things from the terrorist point of view, however it has them comitting evil acts. One member of the group, for example, questions the killing of innocent people and that they could accomplish things some other way and then he is executed by others in the group. The actors and other people involved in this show receive numerous death threats from real groups for their involvement in this, so it obviously impacts in some wayl.
Personally I think that this is a great idea, the media in the US can have a strong arm in public opinion, this could help deter people if the shows become popular. So far they seem to be, but hopefully the threats dont get them to stop them. Their was a show like this before about Afghanistan but they canceled it due to threats. Anyways, any thoughts on this?
