Fix for voices (non-english versions)
Hi everyone,
I think some of you are in the same situation than me, I mean missing voices for many factions (Lithuania, Poland, Denmark, Scotland...). I have a french version of the game and I didn't get their voices ; I guess it's the same thing for german versions according to some posts I found, and maybe every non-english version
We used to change things in descr_sound_accents and delete some .idx and .dat files to fix this, but with the RR/RC Compilation (thanks to Point Blank for this great mod
) this didn't work (at least for me, I assume for some others too).
So here's a fix for that. Just get this file, and extract it in your data/sounds folder (in the SS folder). It contains voice.dat and voice.idx files, which will hopefully give you voices for every faction. At least it worked for me (again yes but that's better than nothing). I was really glad to finally fix this small bug I wanted to share it with you (a french translation is on the way too).
Basically I just tried 6.3, fixed the voices bug by changing descr_sound_accents.txt and removing voice.dat and voice.idx files, and copied them (after the game has recreated them) to the RR/RC sounds folder. I was happy when I saw (well actually heard) it works.
I hope this will be useful. Cheers
TL;DR :
The link to get the fix, extract it in your data/sounds folder
