Can't build farms or roads

I am playing this using the alex exe. I don't know if that's a problem or not. I can't seem to build over greek buildings are recruitment makes no sense. I am playing as Pahlava. The only way to build over stuff is to destroy it. which makes the game impossible and since farms and roads can't be destroyed i am stuck.

is it anything to do with the Pahlava reforms?, did you start a new campaign when you started using the Alex.exe?

I can't remember the details, but it's likely due to the Parthian development system. There should be a link to it's discussion somewhere in the FAQ.

Or it could be Alex.exe messing with the script. I'm not sure.

Why would you destroy valuable structures in the first place anyway?

If you can't build the next level of roads farms, it either means you didn't reach the appropriate settlement level (check the building trees PDF in the EB folder), or they are already maxed out (cant build better than paved roads unless you're romani).

No bug with alex.exe, and the script has nothing to do with pahlava reform which is just a specific building chain you need to respect. The only culprit is, build warlord horse herds before advanced settlement IIRC, or they disappear and you need to restart the whole line.
