Why take poor Ireland away :(

I always played as Ireland, due to the fact that A. There color was green B. Ireland and Irish people are cool. C. The campaign was challenging. D. Units were cool.

What are the reasons for removing them? I relize they are a minor faction that probably not many players used, but i did. Thanks for you time

Because if you did not play them, they function exactly the same as they do now as a rebel faction

Plus adding the region from ireland to russia adds more gaplay too playing as the 4 factions competing for it (nov, kiev, cuman, byz or venice in late era)

Ireland was not a real power in the time line covered; no major impact on the world. Plus in game they did nothing but sit around in Ireland. A faction slot could be better used elsewhere.

Please do a search next time. This subject has been brought up and discussed many, many times.

No major impact militarily maybe except stopping the Viking conquest of Eire. Culturally they had a huge impact on Catholicism, arts, etc. Some claim Irish were the first to discover America. I'm not saying they should be in the mod or not I just hate gross generalizations not based in fact.

Well stopping the Viking conquest of Eire was before the SS timeline and the Irish did not 'discover' America. So it's not a gross generalization to say that they had 'no major impact on the world'; which is in itself a factually based statement.
