    Yes, you are I am not sure how exactly originated the idea of Vikings wearing helmets with horns, but it is absolutely unacurate anyway.

    Apart from the horns,the basic "vikingr" unit pretty much covers those requirements - not that they're good for much apart from looking fierce/good.

    The horned helmets are a product of 19th century (over)imagination IIRC, not sure what they originated from though... the only historical horned helmets I know of are ceremonial germanic helmets that predate the viking age by a lot...

    The Teutonic Knights also seem to have (partly) used horned helmets. But not the Vikings.
