Glorfindel The Tukker, u'r from holland?
holland for life
but, if you want to add population, you can either choose the settlement's name or the region name(right mouse button click on the region, and then u can see the region name. but sometimes it's easier to change the name, alike beorns halls.
replace every space with an _ that will fix it
Oi it's me again (the cheater....well not rly xD) i was wondering what script must i modify so units will never get tired?
Yes Baron is correct but for Osgliath just close the spaces to make it all one word then when you use the cheat you can just add the spaces again!
But then I would have to rename all settlements with 2 words.
have you tried selecting the city so it has the green border round it, then type "add_population this 5000" the 5000 is an example obviously, but this cheat works to give spies/generals traits aslong as the unit is selected on the campaign map etc so might work!
You have to put the name of the city between this -----> " <----- and another of this -----> " <----- so it will look like this add_population "W. Osgilliath" 5000

Best M2TW mods :)
try:
add_population West-Osgiliath 4000
If that doesn't work, go to the desc_regions file and find the proper name in there.
If you like the picture of my woman, GIVE ME REP!!!!
Is there a cheat for removing population? I'm trying to upgrade my castles but I don't want to wantonly add population everywhere so I was hoping I could remove an equal number of people from a different settlement.
just use add_population but put a '-' infront of the number ie: add_population (settlement) -5000
Yeah... I would like to add some units, like fountain guards, but dont no the ID. How can I find it, is there a list, and please dont kill me! Only reason I want to cheat is cos mordor is spamming units and just owning mah easterly places. also I'm makin sure that rohan pwn, cos I'm gondor.
console command:
create_unit "settlement or character" "Unit ID" "amount (1-5)" "experience (0-9)" "armor (1-3)" "weapon (1-3)"
Example:
create_unit "minus_tirith" "Fountain Guard" 1 0 0 0
Sometimes you have to use the region name and not the settlement name if I remember correctly:
create_unit "Anorien" "Fountain Guard" 1 0 0 0 (might have to use this)
I don't have a copy of the game handy, so going by memory.
The unit id can be found in the export_descr_unit.txt in the data folder. It is proceeded by "type" (without quotes, of course).
The settlement name can be found in the descr_regions.txt file in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data\world\maps\base" folder. (assuming default installation for 64 bit OS, otherwise drop the (x86).

I'm trying to find the settlement, but no matter what I put in, minas_tirith, Anorien, or even a character, it says: err character or settlement not recognised. Does it have anything to do with the fact that i'm on steam?
I don't think the problem come from steam but, when you write your cheat, put the name of the settlement/character of the campaign map between "" and do the same with the unit...It will work if the name is one or with two parts
And look the name of the unit in the export_desr_unit...Respect the capital letters as well fot the unit than for the settlement/characters !
Like this: add_population "W. Osgiliath" 2000 or create_unit "W. Osgiliath" "Foutain Guard" 1 9 3 3 or create_unit "Aragorn" "Foutain Guard" 1 9 3 3
For you, i think it's create_unit "Minas Tirith" "Fountain Guard" 1 5 3 3
No, I realised where I went wrong. It isn't an underscore, it's a dash which seperates the place names, I needed to put "" marks around the actual unit, and the unit name has spaces, not dashes/underscores.
This works for me
add_population Osgiliath-West 4000
if you want to do this with Minas Tirith type "Anorien" instead of Osgiliath-West![]()
