The Longest Day
A Bridge too Far
And, Apocalypse Now.
I'll find more later.
Braveheart
Saving Private Ryan
Letters From Iwo Jima
Band of Brothers...
More to come!(sorry...toolazybusy to post vids.)
PS: Does LOTR(Peter Jackson film) count?
THE WORLD SHALL TREMBLE.
Yeah LOTR counts. I forgot to include it. and Letters from Iwo Jima.
All of the above are good(except LOTR)
Also:
Troy
300
Gladiator
Battles BC(TV Program)
Decisive Battles(TV Program)
Time Commanders(TV Program)
when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.
I think we can pretty much classify Gladiator as a war/action film. He DOES start off as a Roman general, after all.
Anyway, I would have to say Glory is one of my favorite war films of all time: The special-effects are a bit...crappy, but, not much you can do about an '80s movie...
I would post more, but, most of my other favorites have already been taken.![]()
Oh yeah...forgot:
Platoon
Full Metal Jacket
Kingdom of Heaven.
And maybe Waterloo...
THE WORLD SHALL TREMBLE.
Most of my favourites are already mentioned. Also love Zulu.
Euroba Barbarorum convert
Ice-cold in Alex
The Dambusters
The Battle of Britian
Khartoum
The Hill
Dr.Stranglove
Adolf Hitler:My Part in his Downfall
To name a few and in not in any order...apart from Ice-cold, 1st one that came to mind, as one read the title of the thread.
Ice Cold, thats an excellent movie! The ultimate beer quest!
Saving Private Ryan
A Bridge Too Far
Zulu
Black Hawk Down
300
Platoon
Braveheart
As with all of these 'best war film' threads, I will mention Band of Brothers despite it not being a film
Under the Patronage of Jom!
Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.![]()
Favorites:
Band of Brothers (of course. I'm always excited when it's on TV)
300
Letter from Iwo Jima (I hated Flags of our Fathers)
Saving Private Ryan
Pearl Harbor (the bombing the Japanese and FDR parts, not the stupid lovey-duvey parts)
--- Theseus1234
Suum cique (To each their own) -Motto of the Kingdom of Prussia
The Crown of Aragon AAR- The Iberian Supremacy
^Human hubris knows no bounds.
Black Hawk Down.
Most impressive thing about SPR for me was the sound effects.
