Default My re-enactment of the gladden fields disaster

There is fog all around, and the Dunedain army are alerted to a presence of orcs. The Dunedain quickly setup their lines and await the onslaught.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The first orc army converges on the dunedain

The second orc army is shown here

The first orc army gets within the archers range

This is the third orc army

The pikes await the third orc army going through the narrow passage towards their sharp pikes.

The dunedain army awaits the onslaught

The orcs throw themselves at the dunedain line

The third orc army proceeds through the passage

the battle with the third orc army starts

Meanwhile, the 1st and 2nd orc armies are fighting vigorously with the dunedain defensive line

Fire arrows support the dunedain defense line

The defensive line starts to fail and the rangers are called in

Later on, the pikes fighting the third army start to fail, cavalry are called in to support them

Later on the pikes fail against the third army and rout

This is a shot of the carnage

    The third general dies

The defensive line has failed, and the cavalry constantly charge at the incoming horde trying to hold back the tide.

What is left of the orc armies unite and get into formation, ready to charge whats left of the dunedain army

shot of the passage dead bodies from the third orc army

The cavalry keep facing off against the orc horde, killing several hundred orcs, and routing them all

Victory for the dunedain, the cavalry saved the battle.

Please forgive the graphics quality, I had to turn them down for the battle.

P.S I know the dunedain were meant to lose the gladden fields disaster, but I am too competitive and wouldn't let myself lose xD

BTW this took ages to do, so please +rep if you like -end repwhore post-

    Ugh.

I'm playing TATW via Boot Camp on a Mac. Everything runs wonderfully, except for one major annoyance: Apple keyboards, as a rule, don't have a Print Screen button. So I can't take screenshots.

    Feels bad, man.

There is, just download FRAPS, it is an easy program that lets you take screenshots with any button you wish and then saves them in a folder picked by you.

Nice screens man ;D +rep... Come to think of it, it might be not so hard to play that battle, as there were about only about 300 Dunedain and 1000 orcs, so maybe little correction for that part?

Maybe 300 vs 2000 or more? And they must be infantry and 1 unit of archers, very lore strictly..;D

    it's nice

but for the sake of lore-correctness, there were no cavalry at Gladden Fields

your battle is very heroic. very nive victory. i think i love this cavalry.

I haven't read the exact description in the book, but why are there mountains and a fortress in the gladden fields? did you use the editor?

and yes, with fraps it's a lot easier: no need to quit the game

also, according to jan, battle scripting is possible, but it's complicated.

    Thankyou for the compliments everyone
Here is the lore appropriate version of the battle:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The dunedain vanguard form a shield wall in waiting for the orcs to attack

The archers fire at the orcs in a desperate attempt to kill as many as possible before they reach them

The orcs keep coming from the mountains and hills

The orcs make first contact with the lines

In the heat of battle, the dunedain hold their ground, but are slightly starting to lose advantage

One of the orc leaders are killed

The dunedain frantically try to hold them back

    Another orc leader is killed

The defensive line is broken and the orcs swarm the general

    The general dies

    The final result
