Well, title says it all i think. I'm leaning towards the Late myself because of two reasons.
One is that there's generally more 'high' medieval stuff, you know knights in plate amor and such instead of leather and chain. (so i guess it's just because it's shinier )
The other is that the factions seem better balanced to me, am i imagining this or are other people thinking the same?

WEll if you consider the HRE either dominating everything, or being crusaded into oblivion balanced. Meh. I think early is equal, plus every faction has more time to develop a unique nation. Sicily wont always have Bari (But does Sicily even exist in late?)

Till now I have only played Early - I like to build my empire for a long time, pluss in this era almost each faction seems to be a unique experience.

By the way at about what time do new units start to appear or to dissapears (if they do for Byzantines for example)?

I believe the HRE finished them off in 1194. For this reason I prefer early. Neither refect the HRE well imo, but at least with early their missing settlements are rebel, so you dont have fight everyone right away to get what should have already been theirs.

Early because is cool, swords, spear, charges. But if wanna challange, struggle, hard games, that you get only in late.

I prefer the early era campaign because I'm not a big fan of gunpowder so I prefer the units in the early era.

The only reason I'd play a late campaign is, like Gogolometro (awesome name by the way there friend) said, for the Teutonic Knights. Otherwise I play early because everyone has less territory and I have time to develop as I please, and expand (without as much complaining) from the Papacy.

Although no matter what, I will always be strained to play as the Fatimids. Damn crusades.

Bysantines dont lose units. If not apply for housekarls replanished with the varangoi.

I have installed the game as an early campaign as that is where I find myself in the strongest position. If I want to change to late do I have to re-install everything again?

No you just use the "SS-setup" tool to select late-era campaign and what options you want; use the tool to change options/preferences any time you want. Just make sure you start new campaign every time you do or I suspect you might get crashes (though i have not tried changing options in middle of a campaign)

I'm tempted to say yes. Reading 4 sentences into the release topic answers it with "no, just start ss_setup.exe again".
If you wish to switch from early to late or viceversa, or change the script features, just run the setup from start menu (SS_setup.exe inside ss folder).

I would say Early campaign since you have, and the AI has to build up their way to glory
Cassius: "Our men at arms have secured the city. We've received representatives from all the best elements. The senate is with us, the knights are with us."
Brutus:"The pontifs, the urban cohorts, the lictors guild..."
Antony: "Oh, the lictors guild, very good. Only rally the bakers and the flute players and you can put on a festival."

Undecided. If it comes down to statistics I've played more early era campaigns then late.

I like early campaigns because I enjoy getting factions started. I generally have problems continuing with a factions after its reached 13 or so provinces.

    Early for me.

I prefer the long way, start from the beginning, write my history! but I am interested to play with mongols someday, and teutonic order. By the way, it is FUN to see that you have progressed to late tech sooner than your adversary, to enjoy your greatness for a time, crushing him!
