    Default Shieldwall mass

    In TATW when units are put in shieldwall, the mass seems to increase and cavalry charges will not throw up many men if any at all. I was wondering how is that implemented? When I give a unit shieldwall, their mass does not seem to increase.

    Unfortunately it's not true.

    The only way to make it unnoticeable is to have it make little difference. For example if the the mass advantage of your cav vs your inf is huge then the bonus will be less noticeable.

    An exaggerated example: 100 vs 1 is not much different to 100 vs 2, even though in the second case 2 is 100% more than 1.

    Shield_wall always adds more mass vs units in front of the shield_wall unit.

    There is no way to adjust the effect of shield_wall, you can only adjust the things that it acts upon.

    yes i was having the same thoughts about it. Now i think the way to make it balance in sort of a way:-
    We could increase the infantry mass and decrease the mounts mass will that make a difference?

    Yes, that is the area to play in. Although by adjusting mass we're affecting everything including shield_wall, so it's a big play area with lots of toys.

    Thanks Taiji will look into it asap and test the effectiveness of shield wall after the changes.

    Things like defence, attack, weapon attributes, velocity, moving/bracing, soldier radius, horse dimensions, animations, etc. all play a part also. Balancing cav charges is a lot of fun

    It's like a million reloads of the game Taiji sounds fun i'll try it, gotta to have this kind of experience as well.
