Default The suggested list, Graphics cards

This would be one in a series of suggested lists. This one would be maintained by me. Others can feel free to start their own list in other catagories.
Low budget - Geforce 6200. Not suggested, but if you really need a Graphics card right now, this will do. ABout 60-70 in the USA.
    Expected 3Dmark - 1700 ish

Low budget - performance - The Geforce 6600. This is one of the better buys right now, at 100 dollars in the USA. It have twice the power of the geforce 6200. Suggested. Expected 3Dmark score:2970
    $195AUS

medium budget - ATI X800gt. Currently beats the Geforce 6600gt in both price and performance. it is
currently 140 in the USA. Should have 150% the power of the Geforce 6600. This is what I would buy right now if I were buying a new Graphics Card. Expected 3Dmark score: 4486
    233 AUS

medium budget Performance - Geforce 6800GS. Is 30% more powerful then the X800gt. Cost 199 in the US. Expected 3Dmark score - 5500

high budget - Geforce 7800gt. Currently at 350ish in the United States. Should have roughly twice the power of the ATI X800gt. As you can see, the price for performance is dropping. But if you got lots of cash, this is what I would get. Expected 3Dmark score: 7210
    $585AUS

high budget perfomance - The geforce 7800gtx 512. It is currently the best. Not suggested because it is a bit too costly right now and you will not need the extra power. But if you are dead set on getting the best, this is for you. Expected 3Dmark score: 9538
    Not found in AUS

Low budget - performance - (Sparkle is the cheapest and best I've found) Geforce 6600GT. $216AUD in most stores. Designed for the mainstream market when released, but I think it's much better for the poorer gamers.

    PCI-E I mean.

[EDIT] for the high budget performance card for Australia just put the 7800GTX 256mb version, the 512 should be released soon.

Guderian: is there anyway you can write together a full guide just like mine for AUS? Because alot of my advice seems to be nonsense if we use AUS prices.

Your guide is good, I agree with everything in your guide (only the 7800GTX 512mb which hasnt been released here is a problem, but i doubt there is a substantial difference between the 512 and 256mb version when playing todays games, so my suggestion would be to put 7800GTX 256mb for Australia.) The prices aren't that confusing, there pretty accurate according to the exchange rate.

There is a BIG hole in the price between the X800GT and the Geforce 7800GT. The X800GT should be called midbudget, and the midbudget performance would be the Geforce 6800GS (NOT GT), you can get one for $199 at NewEgg.

it really is alot of work, and i do not not have the time to compile any sort of guide at the moment. what im seeing so far is okay, but in the end, it is still limited to a few seperate budgets, it does not cover the broad spectrum of gamers out there.
