part 6 is a .exe thats why. go into ctrl alt delete then into processes and end the one relating too your anti virus. download and install, then restart your computer!
or turn off or configure the anti virus some other way to let you play in peace! what anti virus do you have?
figures.
this might help http://community.norton.com/t5/Norto...010/m-p/158335
or right click it in the bottom right and select some option to suspend it or something. you could also use the ctrl alt delete task manager to end the process.
*sigh* well I kinda fixed it. I had to disable my sonnar detection, but when I enabled it after installing and tried to start the game it deleted the exe. file. This is more of a hassle than it should be. All I can think of is just playing the game with it disabled but it says my computer may be at risk and that just bothers me.
Trust me. "Your computer is at risk" is only when you have a virus that you know of sitting on your computer. I doubt you have one. i reccomend removing norton or turning it off as you did forever, and downloading free avg or avast. works much better and never a hassle with .exe's its always your word that can change any action it takes.
That would work but I just found a solution that will let you not have to mess with norton:
1. Try to download it anyways(it will fail the first time).
2. Go to norton.
3. Then to tasks.
4. Next go to view Security History.
5. Somewhere in the activity section you should see ss6.3 detected.
6. Click on it and then there should be an action button selection.
7. Select allow and then reinstall.
That's how I got it to work. But thank's for the help, I almost quit. Nice to know someone is answering these threads.![]()
you could always install the torrent version of the mod couldnt you? thats what i did. i thought it would be easier since everything downloads together. (im also a lazy person)
Yeah but the main issue was / is Norton. It viciously attacks the exe installer which is btw classified as "very low risk" even from Norton...

So, basicly, repeated attempts at starting and downloading made the exe into a dangerous repeat offender?Well I had the file reanalysed and it looks like that was only the judgment of your local installation. Still thats just great stuff.

honestly i think AVG is perfect(for me). Ive had 2 viruses on my computer, AVG found them immediatly, and removed them. No problems for me. That was also the free version. I had norton and i think they are annoying, the pop-ups to renew and everything... not for me. Ill renew if i want to, not if a pop-up tells me to do.
