naw= National assembly of Wales?

Watching it as we speak, it is quite good.
LOL.
Nations at War and Advance to Contact.
Oh noes, Normans getting serious now.
Just finished watching the first episode, really enjoyed it. Don't know much about this period so it was interesting.
I didn't know much about the papal justification for the invasion, i'm looking forward to seeing the next episode which features Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.
A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."
When is the next episode on, out of interest? I forgot to take note of it.![]()
Next Wednesday at 21:00 on BBC2 and BBCHD.
Thank you muchly.
Channel 4's "1066" was good too.
Bitter is the wind tonight,
it stirs up the white-waved sea.
I do not fear the coursing of the Irish sea
by the fierce warriors of Lothlind.
I believe I recall that René, was that not set as a kind of docudrama as opposed to purely a documentary? I may be thinking of something else, though. Certainly what I'm thinking of was about the Battle of Stamford Bridge and Hastings.
I started watching this the other night but I think I became distracted by something resembling lots of beer, I'm gonna fire up iPlayer now and finish it off I think. It seemed pretty good from what I managed to get watched.

It was ok, but some of the editing left alot to be desired...especially when he was talking about the Battle of Hastings, made it look like it took just a couple of attacks for the Normans to win, instead of taking most of the day. But as a general introduction to the Normans it covered most of the basics..if a tad biased, again this could due to bad editing.
Oh how I love iPlayer. I would miss so many damn good shows if it did not exist.
I think the Arts is a better home for this thread, as it is in reference to an individual show about history rather than the history presented by that show, per-say.
If any of y'all think that it has a more historically specific content matter, always feel free to PM me.
Happy Posting!![]()

I wish American "information" channels would be more like BBC and forget the "worst-career-to-ever-have" shows and begin to play historical documentaries again.
