Hey I'm a little confused about your question? It's called the United Kingdom because that is the land mass and group of countries assosiated with said faction ingame. The British Empire included the colonies, which are obviously not represented geographicaly ingame thus it is more appropriate in the teams opinion to entitle said faction, United Kingdom.
Less sarcasm and I won't have had to own you publicly.![]()
Its a decent question, I was wondering myself to be honest![]()
come on, who cares about the Brits anyway![]()
Allez la France !!!![]()
I stay with UK. The Empire would fit in ETW, where there's Canada&India

Should be the British Empire as you can recruit Australian units and Canadians.
Ok as people didn't bother to read the second post...
The British Empire encompassed... wait for it.... The whole British Empire.... you are not under control of The British Empire.... you are under control of... wait for it..... The United Kingdom..
Honestly, it would make more sense to call it The British Empire or AT LEAST Great Britain because historically, and especially in a military sense it has been Britain, British, Pax Britanicca etc, regardless of whether in this particular game you can only see the UK on the map. You say UK=the countries that you control, but consider that Britain also encompasses the countries you control. Therefore geography is no basis to name the faction on. United Kingdom is a comparitively new name I think which attempts to highlight that it is in fact a union, because in the past England has been very much dominant.

Just to avoid confusion, can we call Germany "The Empire" and Austria-Hungary "The Dual Monarchy" and Italy "The Kingdom" and France "The Republic" and Russia "The Empire" also and later "The Union"? Just calling Britain "The United Kingdom" is too inconsistent for me.
Do you see why it makes sense to have Britain in there somewhere?
Right one more time.. for the hard of hearing.
The name of the given entity is derived from the landmass they control.
The United Kingdom is the controling entity of the landmass of Great Britain. I.e the group of countries on Great Britain.
It would be called The British Empire if you controled... wait for it.... The British Empire.
You don't...
Now all you have to do is play the mod, you will see this. Its not hard to miss, you would kindly note when playing the lack of India, South Africa and Australia etc, you know, those small places.....
Now remembering the fact that the name of a state or w/e you want to call it, is derived from the landmass they control The German Empire is represented fully in our mod, via it's territory on mainland Europe.
So I'll say it one final time..
Are you in control of the British Empire in this mod? No your not, when India, Australia and SA make an appearance, I will change it.
So am I going to change anything? No.
So thread closed, as discussion has its answer.
Right and when we introduce the Americans you'll be wanting it to be called, The United Empire of Britain and America, Kingdom. Im sure of it.So no colonial troops I guess?
