Need a Researcher/Historian Look No Further

Hi -

So after a fairly long hiatus from the world of modding I'm thinking about getting involved in one way or another with a project or two. In the past I worked as a historian and weapons researcher/expert for the (unfortunately) unfinished Call of Duty modification Vietnam: Operation Phoenix and I spent a little time as a beta tester for the Punic: Total War mod.

I may not have an extensive resume when it comes to mods but I am more than qualified in terms of research and history. Currently I'm a History major in college/university going into my senior year. I've taken classes and have been exposed to everything including colonial US history, WWI, WWII, German history, Civil War history, medieval Europe, ancient history, and so on.

At the moment I'm writing my end-all senior thesis on the Greco-Persian Wars.

Being a history major I also have quite an extensive exposure to writing. I've done both academic writings and stuff purely for fun (my video game reviews, a few articles I wrote for the Helios, and my Blog I'm trying to maintain).

So...if anyone needs a researcher/historian/writer for their mod please get in contact with me any way you see fit. I'd be willing to work with most time periods and most cultures with the exception of East Asia - my understanding and knowledge of that part of the world is limited.

BTW if you're someone who also is working on a non-TW mod I'd be fine with that as well.

Do you think you could help me get some detailed information on The Republic of Genoa around 1100 A.D.? Specifically who ruled in 1100 and 1220 and exactly how their government functioned. As far as I can tell they didn't start electing Doges until 1339 when Simone Boccanegra was elected Doge by popular sufferage (According to Wikipedia anyway).

I'm doing research for a Medieval II mod that will add elections to Genoa, Venice, and Novgorod instead of having direct hereditary inheritence. Novgorod has already been done, I have ample research sources for Venice, all that's left is Genoa. You should also take note that the faction is called 'The Republics of Genova and Pisa' so any information on the Republic of Pisa's government and who ruled them in 1100 and 1220 is also important.
