No and there is no American politician by that name that I know of.
This guy is no longer alive.
Paleologos,
I think I figured out who he is. If I'm right this is kinda obscure.

Hans Riemer
The guy didn't do much besides be a regional politician, and even then the available sources and photos on him are scarce. If I hadn't had your hints I wouldn't have ever found him.
Just food for thought.

Well, Hans Riemer it is and you are probably right that this is sort of obscure.
I had read a short article about him shortly before it was my turn to post a question and got the impression he was a historically significant/influential political actor.
When I realized that the photo of him that I posted was perhaps the only photo of him in the www it was rather late.
Anyway, you have the ground.
Guess posting a pic of my grandfather will be my next post.
This one should be better known, and has an interesting history once you figure out who he is.

Clue 1: He is Irish.
Under the Patronage of the venerable General Brewster
"Lay these words to heart, Lucilius, that you may scorn the pleasure which comes from the applause of the majority. Many men praise you; but have you any reason for being pleased with yourself, if you are a person whom the many can understand?" - Lucius Annaeus Seneca -
Yes it is, quite an interesting story. Diplomat, human rights activist, Irish revolutionary.
Your go.

I'll give a hint straight away. It's a military man.

A Roman?
Cause tomorrow is a brand-new day
And tomorrow you'll be on your way
Don't give a damn about what other people say
Because tomorrow is a brand-new day

Does this man wear a white collar?
Cause tomorrow is a brand-new day
