Good clue, don't know why someone hasn't picked up on it. Sir Isaac Isaacs, first home grown Australian Governor General. Fanatical for the British Empire and came to broader international attention after coming out as an anti-Zionist of Jewish heritage after the King David Hotel bombing in Israel/Palestine in 1946.

Correct again, I thought you might pick it up but you did get good hints!

About governor Isaacs, he was not an anti-zionist on his account, as far as I know that is.
You see, zionism means different things to different people and in his time the dominant versions were those of a cultural movement for the seculars and a spiritual movement for the religious.

The political version of zionism was criticized and rejected by both the seculars and the religious.
Secular criticism was it might make the Jewish diaspora seem disloyal to the governments of the various countries where they were native.
Religious criticism was based on the bible, some pact between the Jews and God about not trying to establish a state (see orthodox jews against zionism).
    I like this in particular:

I'm not sure how well know it is, but the Jewish heritage of Australia is as old as that of the British - 16 of the First Fleet colonists.
    Next, who is this woman:

The clue for this one is hidden in plain sight. This trio are an elite group, consider the guy giving the thumbs up.

........consider the guy giving the thumbs up.
So nobody recognises one of the 20th centuries most famous, a man who's place in history is unassailably unique?

Oh the shame of it .

Sure, I do, the thumb-up guy is Yuri Gagarin.
I'm guessing the other two are cosmonauts as well.

Googling "first woman in space"....(I'm guessing "first")....Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova....

    The photo is a match:

Correct. With Valentina and Yuri is Alexey Leonov the first human to go extravehicular in space, an elite trio of first achievers as ever there was.

He's not, strictly speaking, a historic figure - but he is extremely famous.
