    Chuck Yeager?

From the pic he must have been a test pilot.. Yaeger could fit, even though I can see very few similarities in the face

Not Yeager, but you're right in that he was a test pilot. He's more famous than Yeager though, I think.

Via Panisperna boys / Ragazzi di via Panisperna

Basically I guessed these people might have something to do with the Manhattan project, which turned out not to be too far off, though this pic is earlier.

First on the left is Enrico Fermi .. you actually have 2 Nobel prizes there (the other one being Segrè); all of them were great scientist and pioneers, with many stories to be told (for instance Bruno Pontecorvo defected to URRS in 50s; Majorana, who's not on that pic, mysteriously disappeared in '38, etc)..

However, if today we have nuclear energy (and bombs, alas) is mostly thanks to those gentlemen.. but you know, winner takes it all, so kudos went to the Americans ...

Is the right answer of course.

Thanks, Muizer! Let's stay on the wig category:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The circumstances remain unclear, but he might have been accidentally responsible for one of the most important milestones in the exploration of the Earth. The goal of his mission however was purely military.

Well he is a Spanish soldier. My first guess was Blaz de Lezo, but now I am thinking it is Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra.
