    So if it is hardcoded thing... sign.. now my faction heir does not have a son..when he will die then the line will shift to one of his brothers... is there no other way to get more children
    I mean like a trait of something.... just to up the chances and where are the list/guide of the stainless steel traits and ancillaries ? if i got it in a pdf format it would be useful...

    Having an issue with the Alt Tab thing, the game and my desktop are both set to a resolution of 1920x1200
    but the border-less mode doesn't seem to be working? Am I missing something?

    You "killed" a Morocco's rebel merchant or a faction one?
    tbh I don't know which faction the merchant belonged to - fow meant didn't know any merchant was on resource when I moved mine, and they all look much the same
    having rebel merchant with 0MP seems dumb - why not give them 5MP so they can move out of the way? (or normal MP for that matter?)
    I don't mind bumping them off their resource, but I do mind bumping them off. (/pun)

    Traits wont help in the face of the ratio.

    Now i have 9 generals and 15 provinces but still my faction heir wont have a child.. In case you are planning to make a patch please keep this topic in mind that if there are not enough family members then how can the faction continue to exist and plus i wish there was a button that would force generals to produce more babies like or get them married according to our will... is there no feature in Medieval 2 Total War that would allow us to make children i.e to get generals married .. at least if not possible then to make sure that the faction heir has a child so the royal bloodline continues..

    One more thing.. in stainless steel 6.2 RR/RC if you get you faction heir married to another faction's princess then the children have a chance of getting traits like Leonese relations which would give you something like increased piety or something... why is that feature disabled here....

    well, If I am to be serious... I usually edit the number of kids a family can have, from four to three... that way an early baby boom without the expansion of the kingdom is OK... If you get to many children early on and don't expand your kingdom you WILL stop having children... open descr_campaign_dp in the /data folder (MAKE A BACKUP!!!) and go to line 69 through 87... here you can change the numer of children, when children is of age, maximum age before generals croak, when daughters can't marry anymore und so weiter...

    I usually go for the max 3 kids and sometimes I lower the max age... therefore you will have a good birth/death ratio for a good turtle campaign...

    Hi all. I've got problem with crushing game during NPC's tours. I've ended 51st tour and when Kwazermian's tour takes place the game crushes with: Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit. I've clear SS 6.3 instalation, M2:TW 1.3 and Kingdoms v1.5. Anyone knows solution?

    Thanks for the quick reply. I think the problem is related to screen resolution. My windows desktop has a resolution of 1280x1024. The campaign map has a resolution of 1280x1024. Alt+tabbing works fine. The battle map resolution was set to 1024x768, causing the above mentioned problems (in addition to that, the upper edge of the user interface at the bottom of the screen is considered the edge of the screen by the game, causing it the scroll when the mouse pointer is above the UI). Setting the battle map resolution to 1280x1024 (the same as campaign map and windows desktop) solved my problems.

    Thanks! I forgot the 1.5 patch. I'm downloading it now & will install it. Do I need to do a new fresh install of everything, including 6.3, or can I just install the patch? Thanks again! If it still doesn't work I'll include the two files. You are a great man. Or woman.

    Yup. That could also be the problem. I'll ask to have that added to the user faq.

    Man. Dude. You know.
    Im actually not sure if you need a fresh install... I would reccomend it, but you could also just install 1.5 and see if it works from there.

    I was playing with Kingdom of Norway in Late Era Campaign, using gracul's AI. I Attacked French castle Caen on turn 11th. So in the next turn i wanted to recruit some menchant military so, I looked chosed to recruit 2 Macemen and 1 Frankish Cavarly. So i looked at the description of Macemen and closed it after, then the screen went full of Macemen shield. I'll get a pic if it happens again.

    And a Moorish army invaded my town in Norway in turn 7. It's just weird or gracul's AI works like that.

    Hmm I did notice how it works strange as well. But I don't remember Normal Calvary ever being recruitible.. only Sicilo-Norman. But that could be a bug, but you never knowtill you actually try too see how it effects in-game.

    Moorish part is...well. Rare I suppose.
    If you mean the graphics glitch and eventual CTD, it currently has no fix.

    Buying settlements isn't exactly a new feature and the price seems to be in the range I'm used to. Can you actually buy out a faction?

    I bought 3 castles and 1 city off the turks in 20 turns, they had 5 settlements left. I can buy anything but a capital

    I always liked to play historical events, but i cant play atleast half of them.

    Every campaign had buying feature tazaaron, i bought once a whole world from the mongols and then destroyed them, i can give you the saved game file.

    My buttons, like the checkmark or red x, are messed up, i looked at a building with a tree, like in the city tab, and now the top of the tree replaces the buttons. Also, the background of the city tab and every other tab has parts of a background from a previous tab. How do i fix this? Thanks

    Save game and restart? Chances are you'll crash very soon or maybe even when you Quit game like i did. But i just loaded up the save and the graphical glitch was gone and things were fine once again =D
