    Campaign map is exteremly laggy in borderless mode for me. What's even worse is to run it I need to lower my laptops resolution to a small sqaure.... not happening! I'll stick too bordered mode if it means keeping my laptop fullscreen. But it's only laggy in borderless mode.

    In regards to helping with a custom .exe for working with Steam I would help but I can't install SS till there's a different download mirror/torrent. Till that time gord should be able to help.

    Kind Regards

    Fancy Sigs are pointless.
    Also I use that Avatar on every forums, cba to get a different one.
    I've finished with "Kind Regards" in my post for years so dont feel you have to reward me for it(like someone kindly did).

    *Sigh* those files, Ceaser, didn't work for me. I tried to make a hotfix for them aswell, that would install them with minimal possibilities for confusion, but the files simply didn't work. Could you tell me what I would have to change to fix it manually? I looked around the files, unsure of which would I change, but I can't open the majority of files so I got stuck anyway :/

    Did you follow my instructions fully? Did you rename the files and put them in the proper folders?

    Of course. I tried twice. Three times even! Redownloaded and tried again. If I didn't listen to rules well, I really shouldn't be helping people out at all.

    But is there any chance you could pm the things you changed so I could look and make sure those changes are there? because i no longer have my originals, just the ones i downloaded from you and put in there

    History Dude, if you're refering to the faction flags, I had issues following the instructions to... See here:

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    EARLY ERA

    Download EARLY descr_sm_factions.txt and place it in your C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3\data\campaign\early\data directory. Delete the present 'descr_sm_factions.txt' file and rename the 'EARLY' file to that (descr_sm_factions.txt).

    LATE ERA

    Download LATE descr_sm_factions.txt and place it in your C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3\data\campaign\late\data directory. Delete the present 'descr_sm_factions.txt' file and rename the 'LATE' file to that (descr_sm_factions.txt).

    ABRA CADABRA

    Now copy & paste the brand new & renamed .txt file for the campaign you're playing (early if early, late if late) to your C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3\data directory.

    Essentially that's a new file in two directories, and copying one of them into a parent directory.

    I have literally just got this working for me in the last 10 minutes, so it should work for you, too.

    Gracul, your 'KNOWN BUGS' post relating to this fix fails to mention the part about copying the relevent .txt file into the parent data directory; that's probably where people (like me) went wrong.

    Caesar, can you tell me if I'm playing an early campaign, and decide to load a late campaign, I'll need to re-copy the relevent .txt into C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3\data everytime I change campaign eras?

    No you wont. That's why you copied the two files into the backup folders for each campaign

    Hello -- there seems to be an event problem on my 6.3 campaign. I am playing an early campaign as England. I tried a fresh new install of MTW2, then Kingdoms, then 6.3 and the problem persisted. Events such as death & princesses coming of age still appear, but no historical events, troubadors, or others from the descr_events file. I am using Windows Vista. Love 6.3 otherwise -- great work!!

    Every time I start a battle, the left mouse buttons stops working almost completely. I cant press buttons, cant select units and so on. Any proposolas how this problem can be circumvented would be welcome!

    Did you remember to patch to 1.5 for kingdoms? Also, those events are controlled by the campaign script and descr_events. If you could, put them in a zip and upload them? I'll look to see if you have those in there. They are random chances so most likely they work, your just unlucky

    Try defragging your system and also try another mouse. Could be a ram or processor problem causing a mini-lockup.

    This is a copy of a post I have made in the main forum; I just want to be sure this is registered as a bug...or be told I am missing something obvious.

    Well, looking at the "disable RR commands" it appears that while it does disable RR, it also disables all/almost all your heavy cavalry.

    The "disable RR command", according to the scripts file, sets the trigger "event_counter HEAVY_MAIL_ARMOR 1", whereas the "export_descr_buildings" has the entry for "norman cavalry" (the version which has a pool that tops out at "1" and not "0.1") listing the condition "NOT event_counter HEAVY_MAIL_ARMOR 1". Their are several other units this affects.

    Likewise, it sets "event_counter FULL_PLATE_ARMOR 1". And with this, the feudal knights all disappear, as they require "HEAVY_MAIL_ARMOUR 1" but NOT "FULL_PLATE_ARMOUR 1"

    The unit is their under RR, but not their when RR is disabled. This strikes me as a bug.
    Should the "no RR" command be installing a revised "export_desc_buildings" file, and the problem is being caused by this not happening?

    Hi, I just installed 6.3 and am now having trouble selecting more than a single unit card on the campaign map and battlefield, more specifically I can't have more than one selected at a time.

    The only way I can is to use the ctrl shortcuts (for example, ctrl+a) and I'm being forced to create armies one unit at a time.

    At first I figured it was my keyboard, but I can easily select more than a single unit at a time on vanilla Med 2, which is why I'm very confused.
    Also, I've had a look through the keyboard controls & options settings and they have not been changed; I'm stumped!

    Anyway, thought I should mention this; any help would be appreciated.

    Hello,
    I wonder if anyone can help me. Would be much appreciated.
    Last time I stopped playing Medieval was when my game kept crashing turn 51 and I couldnt work out how to install the fix. Now I have come back again to it and damn It crashed on turn 51 as Scotland. I installed over no patches or any other SS installs. Just medi and kingdoms. I tried installing the "fixes3.3" file as was instructed in the install thread, and finally I think managed to do it after installing 7zip and unzipping the files to the ss6.3 folder. BUT alas after finalling thinking I done something right it is still crashing. Searched around again on here for anwsers. looked at top of page and it said about turn 51. downloaded the data.rar but It wont let me install or overwite the files that are already there. Does anyone know how I am able to do this? I am administrator and have all the computer privledges . So i duno why its saying i cant install it. Really in need here guys. total noob with comps. just an addict for medieval. PLEASE HELP

    Don't know if anyone else has noticed this in their versions, but my new 6.3 has a weird glitch on the campaign map where trees/settlements/roads, etc. will suddenly disappear for a second or two and then reappear, repeating this process every minute or so. It's not very serious, but it is an unwanted distraction while I'm trying to manage settlements and move troops around. Any known fix for this?

    I have no priests. When I create one a bishop appears instead.

    I haven't managed to start the game yet. When I run ss I get a 'Cannot locate kingdoms.exe. Is it in your m2tw folder?'.
    kingdoms.exe is in my medieval 2 folder so this is a problem. Can anyone help with that?
    A HUGE fan of the Stainless Steel mod for m2 kingdoms. Thank you to all the modders!

    @Therion
    That's some kind of a graphical glitch, and probably only on your computer.

    @Historydude
    I'll pm y2 about that issue since he can send me the right .tga.dds files in no time.

    @TheKnightRoberts
    Can you go inside your stainless steel folder?
    backspace twice and tell me if you see kingdoms.exe there, and tell me what folder did you land in too
    If thats not working then move SS into a directory like c:\games or something like that and run launcher again.
