I'm playing with SS 6.3 Disabled RR and SavageAI. Does anyone know when units like Light Men at Arms/Mailed Knights become available? I looked in descr_events in the late campaign, and found "HEAVY_MAIL" at 0 turns, I put it to 1 turns and then I could recruit Billmen. Shouldn't that include mailed knights and light men at arms? Or did they wear even heavier armour? By the way, why is HEAVY_MAIL at 0? Cause I couldn't recruit billmen before I put it at 1.

I am having the same problems with the Crusader States, I like RR but disabled it to check out if the rosters were changed at all.

With RR disabled I can not see Templar Zweihanders, or Templar Heavy Spearmen......but I do see Templar Guard, and pikes etc.

Why is this happening? Even without RR are some units still only available after events??

    Please help.

I think you need to wait for the Council of Troyes event.(This applies to early era only)

Hmmm, so the units will only be available in early era after the event, ok I can try that out.

I will try playing like 20 turns in late era with RR off to see if they ever show up.

We need a comprehensive 6.3 guide, cause all these recruitment issues are stressing me out.

Yes, it's clear, but BP said 'Mongolian' is a kinda derogatory term. Moreover, their realm was also called 'Mongol Empire' apparently.

EDIT: never mind, bane_tw posted some explanation on the matter while I was writing this.

Still, you know that mongolian is widely used for people with down syndrom, even if dictionaries don't use it. Using the term Mongol instead of that would be better because there's no possible confusion.
BTW mongoloid refers to all far-asian ethnic groups. Anthropological term, mongolia being apparently the source of asian people + native americans too.

Sorry I'm late + It's easy to change it on expanded.txt anyways. Ctrl H

Please correct France & "Saracens" if you have 5 minutes, for the next hotfix

Urbandictionary specialises in slangterms. Many nice bad hits for mongoloid, non for mongolian. I'd be interested in your opinion why the official adjective should be regarded as bad when the Mongolians had the syndrome renamed exactly to _keep_ their adjective distinguished from the illuse.

Since people with Down syndrome may have epicanthic folds, the condition was widely called "Mongol" or "Mongoloid Idiocy".[46] John Langdon Down, for whom the syndrome was named, claimed in his book Observations on the Ethnic Classification of Idiots (1866), that the Mongol-like features represented an evolutionary degeneration when manifested in Caucasoids.
BTW mongoloid refers to all far-asian ethnic groups. Anthropological term, mongolia being apparently the source of asian people + native americans too.
The use of the term "Mongoloid" in a racial or medical context has therefore acquired negative connotations because of the connection with this antiquated view of the condition.

Its more my opinion then an explanation - also the reason for the renaming to down syndrom was mainly backed by... wait for it... the Mongolians. The World Health Organization (WHO) officially dropped references to mongolism in 1965 after a request by the Mongolian delegate. Advocacy groups adapted and parents groups welcomed the elimination of the Mongoloid label that had been a burden to their children. The first parents group in the United States, the Mongoloid Development Council, changed its name to the National Association for Down Syndrome in 1972.
Seeing Mongolian as a derogatory term now feels to me like keeping the issue alive in dissalowing the term to return to its main and proper use. Apologies for using Wikipedia as a main source.

But Templar Zweihanders, and Heavy Spearmen are not locals.....so why are they not appearing?

    Are they event driven?

Well i remember some units for some factions are blocked with an event 'not so far from game start' (up to turn 20 i think) to prevent massive overpower (mostly from AI). Perhaps its the same thing with zweihanders, can't remember.

I was hoping for brand new Muslim units model as they look very boring when compare to all the new skins that all the other factions are getting. Hopefully SS 6.4 will have that.

Still, you know that mongolian is widely used for people with down syndrom, even if dictionaries don't use it.
I first heard that term last year when I come to America and still can't understand why they call down syndrome people "Mongoloid"
should I be offended when someone use that infront of me, an asian?

If anything you should be generally offended and not because of heritage. The name Mongolian Idiocy was created 1866 when Idiot was a specialised term in medicine and psychology for persons with a low iq and the Mongoloid part was chosen because of certain physical similarities. Basicly its a historically outdated name as the usage and the perceptions have (thankfully) changed. That will be all I'll say on this matter ... this is not what this topic is about after all.

    Gracul, a question!
What happen to the Portuguese Knights, mailed knights, aventuros, dismounted Knights of Santiago?
I`m playing with Portugal the late campaign with the RR option disabled, and this units don´t appear, even if you have the Castle completely upgraded!
Is there an event for the late campaign, that will allow you recruit this units?
    Thank you for your time!

Ps: Spanish arquebusiers and spanish musketeers for Portugal! Something I would expect from Creative Assembly in the vanilla times, not in this Excellent Mod!
    Respect!

I found one bug, maybe its only for but but look:

    http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/7...8051802545.png

Also, when I start Long campaign with Lithuania main objective is eliminate Novgorods and Polands, but not Tautotinc Order. In real, Lithuanian main enemies was Tautonic Order and allies Poland, they both have long alliance. So would be cool if main objective would be "Eliminate Novgorods and Tautonic Order"
Other things, I missing main tautonic castle- Marienburg. So for now this.
Everything else is cool, nice mode.
