What do you mean?
What do you mean?
I think he's just happy to see us showing so much interest in the mod. Also, I think the Bastarnae would be a GREAT addition to the game. They'd help fill out a very empty section of the map (northeast Europe) and could offer a somewhat unique unit roster of Germanic, Slavic, and pseudo-Thracian units. Considering the number of other big players of the time who are not going to be appearing, I'm really totally out of ideas for good faction candidates.
I thought I might just update the list again (and maybe will continue to do so, if new factions are confirmed or ruled out in further posts).
Confirmed old factions*:
1 - Aedui
2 - Arche Seleukeia
3 - Arverni
4 - Baktria
5 - Carthage
6 - Epeiros
7 - Getai
8 - Hayasdan
9 - Koion Hellenon
10 - Lusotana
11 - Makedonia
12 - Pahlava
13 - Pritanoi, formerly Casse
14 - Ptolemaioi
15 - Pontos
16 - Romans
17 - Saba
18 - Saka Rauka
19 - Sauromatae
20 - Sweboz
* the 20 factions from EB1; only listed for the sake of completeness and twc-members not familiar with EB1
Confirmed new factions:
21 - Boii
22 - Bosphorus Kingdom
23 - Massylia
24 - Pergamom
Hot Contenders:
- A second Iberian faction
- Belgae confederation
- Scordiscii
- Bastarnae
Most likely ruled out:
- An "Illyrian" faction
- Galatia
- Achaean league
- Aitoloian league
- Masaesyli
- Syracuse
- Cimbri
Definitively ruled out:
- Massalia
- a Caledonian or further "British" faction [besides the Pritanoi]
- further Italic factions [besides the Romans]
- Kyrene
----------------------------------
What is the latest state on factions included in EBII? Can anyone correct, verify or extend the categories "Confirmed new factions", "Hot Contenders", "Most likely ruled out" and "Definitively ruled out". I would be happy to get an up to date list (as far as possible).
Thanks!
Edit: THX guys!

The second Iberian faction will probably be the Arevaci.
Nabataeans are likely and so is Media Atropatene.
A second germanic faction is probable (I think).
Bithynia is most likely out.
Mauryan Empire and Meroe/Kush (Nubia) are definitively out.
Also it's just my speculation but maybe one faction slot will be sacfificed to create a Free Peoples faction (like in Roma Surrectum).
No mention of Noricum in those lists... Is it a possibility?
Definitively ruled out:
I think u can add Garama and all the emerging faction
He won't happenone faction slot will be sacfificed to create a Free Peoples faction
New faction suggestions:
-Belgae
-Celtiberi
-Boii
-Illyri
-Scyths (Skoloti)
-Thracians (odrysai kingdom)
-Galatia
-Bithynia
-Pergamon
-Numidian tribes
And if Galatia is included, it would be as the Galatian-Bythinian kingdom. It will probably not be included, though.
What about the Ilergaten?
I know nothing about them except what i have learned from EB. They clearly have a distinct culture, type of government and possibly have some nice units? Just a suggestion I dont think has been looked at.
Also obviously not enough is known about them, but the Ligurians as a faction!
But will the Ligurian units still be included? They were really great to play with, I always raised a few Liugurian heavy full stacks when i played as Romans.
is Massylia confirmed
When a nation forgets her skill in war, when her religion becomes a mockery, when the whole nation becomes a nation of money-grabbers, then the wild tribes, the barbarians drive in... Who will our invaders be? From whence will they come?”
― Robert E. Howard
media atropatene? why?
I would like to see Bythinia or another Thracian kingdom it would be nice
Another Kingdom somewhere in Middle East would be an nice addition .
For the game play
I think that in middle easr should be a new faction because rarely you see there another great faction besides Ptolemai or the Grey Death .
I have often seen a purple reign (Parthians) and a royal blue tide (Bactrians).
Jatte lambastes Calico Rat
So will be included an illirian faction.
