I've heard that the articles that Al-Jazeera puts on their english language site are toned down from what they say on their Arabic language channel. Does anyone actually watch Al-jazeera in Arabic? In America we only have second hand sources to judge the Arabic language channels bias.

I've actually visited it a couple of times, they dont have anything that the US news sites dont have. Of course some are stupid and dont realize this.... but hey thats what happens when you judge something without actually looking at it.

Their arabic site is probably where the controversial news is, but then again it could be the same as i've never read it.

Aljazeera in English has nothign.
Visit Kavkaz (Caucus) Center for an example of real political spin and the most biased news reporting I have yet to see.
They are so incredibly biased and false, that not even the Russia hating Baltics want to have anything to do with them, and kicked the servers out of their countries (or so I heard).

I find WWF more educational, realistic and helpful (or healthy in the case of Al-Jazeera) to the American Public compared to either FOX or Al-Jazeera.

I pretty much grew up trying to think of a reason why WWF exist.
And then one clear morning 2 years ago I switched to FOX, first time in my life.

I educate myself on the things I need base on journals, science papers, research protocols and textbooks.

FOX News is propaganda. Wrestling matches beat them hands down in terms of entertainment, having enough material to crack jokes on and is honest about their fictional status.

also does anyone else have any good sources of informtion, so we can judge for ourselves just how bias al-jazzera is.
i remeber many people working at the BBC who publicly said how they watched both american and british broadcasts. and al-jazzera, and they seemed to think that al-jazzer had less bias than american or british news services during the war.

we showed tanks. rolling up a barren desert, a missles hitting builidings miles away.
they showed the human cost of thosse missles and tanks, that we didnt see.

Execution of circa 300 Polish POWs in Ciepielów by German 15th Motorized RegimentThe Polish Defensive War was one of the first total wars fought in Europe. The German aviation from the very first hours of the conflict targeted civilian targets and columns of refugees on the road to wreck havoc and disrupt the communications behind the Polish lines. The first such attack occurred at 4 AM on September 1 during the Bombing of Wieluń, in which ca. 1200 civilians were killed by Luftwaffe air raid on an undefended town. Also, the Wehrmacht frequently used civilians as human shields or as hostages. Finally, apart from the victims of the fights, the German forces (both SS and the regular Wehrmacht) are credited with mass murder of several thousands of Polish POWs and civilians behind the front. Finally, during a pre-planned Operation Tannenberg, circa 20.000 Poles were shot in 760 mass execution sites by special units, the Einsatzgruppen, in addition to regular Wehrmacht, SS and Selbschutz.

Also, during the so-called Bromberg Bloody Sunday on September 3 the Polish Army units withdrawing through the city of Bydgoszcz was attacked by members of German fifth column shooting at soldiers and civilians from roofs and church towers. The soldiers and civilians responded with fire and a lynch of real and alleged German saboteurs ensued. In the effect, between 223 and 358 ethnic Germans were killed. As a reprisal, the German forces executed approximately 1500 Poles and sent additional 13.000 to Stutthof concentration camp until the end of the year.

Tell it to me when you will actually see "war", not on tv.
Beheading is not "war" it is murder.
Showing such things on TV will lessen their impact on people. and at some point people will care even less than they are now.
but if you are a psychologist, i can understand your desire for it being shown.

Gruesome details of war do little to end war, because only one side takes it as incenitive to end war, the other one wishes only more war.

We failed once to acknowledge the dangers of nazism. Then we failed to acknowledge the danger of communism. We are just doing it again with Islamism.
