Ok, went back to this game after so long and I can't get SS done. I've done the whole PrnScrn paste in paint and all that shows up is a black screen. The tgas folder for rome with its screenshots are also just black pictures.

That's it.
I changed to windowed mode and it works, but I really do not wish to play in windowed
I am running Win 7, 64 bit, just tried it, and you are right.
Have you tried FRAPS? I haven't.
No I havent, I shall try it

I know I should be editing my last post, but I'll post anew for it to be bumped.
I tried fraps and managed to get it to take SS fullscreen. The problem is getting back into the game; sometimes it will just remaximize itself, sometimes it will flutter and minimize immediatly, really a hit and miss. I guess this will have to do, either like this or just settle for windowed mode.

When I first used Vista I found that my screens (Ctrl+Alt+PrintScreen) were all pictures of my desktop and I could not find an answer anywhere.
I did have Fraps (I paid for the one-off license several years ago) and I could use that without any problem, however, with some screens that I take I really want to see what I've taken so I can re-take it if I have to (adjustimng the movie camera angle).
Anyway, as you've discovered I found out that the way to get decent acreen shots is to use 'windowed mode'. I don't know how you've achieved the windowed mode but I use the -ne shortcut target switch.
I'm not sure what you mean about swapping back into Fraps - surely all you need to do is to set up the PF keys to take the shots?
If you are playing the game at a different resolution than Windows then I would expect something to happen as the display needs ot reset itself. However, on my system I play the game and have Windows set to the Native Resolution of my monitor (2560x1600).
