    Default Your best M2TW victory!

Suprised I didnt see this thread earlier! But basicly, since I saw a worst disaster thread, why not a best victory! Post whatever you feel that you won against all odds, changed the tide of a war, or just want too boast! have fun!

    Ill share mine!

Recently, Im campaigning in Egypt on crusade as sicily in SS RR/RC. One of my main armies gets locked up in a fort quite a distance from the city. odds are 3:1, and they have 6 ladders, 2 seige towers, and 2 rams! a ladder went onto every wall, but my 10stars beat their 9stars general, and through tactics, onlh 28 out of their 2400 got away from the battle >=)

My best battle was fending off 3 full stacks of Mongols at Antioch with Ballista towers as the Turks. I rushed the janisary archer tech so I could get stakes and place them at the gates/breaches. I could've kept holding them off except then the Mongols did a triple stack attack and the reinforcements will only walk towards the gate/breaches and not run which rendered my stakes ineffective against the horsemen . But it was still great fun watching 1000 men getting inpaled on the stakes again and again ^.^

I've got a whole selection of pictures devoted to heroic victories. One of my favourites is in KGCM, where I went on a crusade to Egypt with a full stack, around 1194. I fought off three full stacks in one turn, resulting in the destruction of all three, but only 127 men of my army survived, resulting in Hungary taking Cairo.

    This actually happened tonight:

I'm Norway and I was battling Scotland. I deployed 1539 troops, they deployed 1730. I won the battle with only 336 loses, they lost 1152. Most of my victories aren't that great, or I just don't remember them.

I guess you were playing on super easy and the Scots only had peasants...

beg you to differ. Vikings were overrated. Once they saw that their scarry outfits didn't scare the crap out of other soldiers they were quite easy to beat soldiers. Untrained, undisciplined.

    Scots were quite more disciplined.

Well of course it depends on what age we are talking.

My most gloriuos battle was as turks, then 2/3 of mongol army impaled on stakes. Jassinary heavy inf dealt with the rest acompanied by naffatuns. Lost around 90 soldiers from 400 compared to their full stack. (I play on high unit count. 60 soldiers per cav unit)

I was playing on vanilla as the Byzantines and had Durrazo garrisoned with just a general and his bodyguard. And Venice assaulted the village on the same turn as it attacked it. I had just 20 bodyguard versus 1 unit of Italian spears 2 units of pavise crossbowmen and 2 units of peasant archers. So I was completely outnumbered by about 400 men to 21, in the battle I lost my general but managed to rout them all. But I only had two bodyguards left.

As the moors i defeated an english army of about 7 groups of armored sergeants and dismounted knights with 4 groups of desert cav (each severely weakened to maybe 4 individuals in each) and my body guard with about 10 bodyguards left. The only other unit i had was a full group of free company longbows. Basically the longbows were in skirmish mode. The entire english army chased after them in column and i would charge each unit in turn from behind with my pitifull group of cavalry and rout them, then i'd ride away far enough until my longbows started firing and the chased resumed. This went on and on until i charged my longbows and my remaining horse into the final unit. 'ridiculous victory' it should have said

One month ago in CCM2 normal campaign as Milan. After I destroyed the Venetians and drive the Sicilians and gaining lands in France and Germany, I sailed for Tunis taking the last Sicilian castle. Then I went on an expedition to the Spanish North Africa. I took one city after another. Each time I took the city, I have it fully garrisoned and return for Tunis to replenish my army. Then finally I reached Marrakesh and took the city. The Spanish homeland is quite close while my army is far way from my base Tunis. The Spanish had 3 full stacks coming for me. I was trapped by river on the north and mountains in the south. I waited them near the bridge. Of course, the AI is not that foolish. A full stack force attacked the city. I broke the siege using mostly of my militia garrison to minimize damage to the main force. Then I waited them at the bridge again. Next turn they gave me way, so I got out of my trap and rushed for Tunis. The enemies then attacked me with 3:5 odds. I destroyed 2 full stack force with heavy losses. Anyway, I won the day and returned back to Tunis. My navy failed to block the strait of Gibraltar in time so another full stack force came and took Marrakesh.

Marseille was surrounded by three almost full stacks of Aragonese. Two of them had catapults (1 each ) and one had siege equipment. I had a full stack that was the field army that had anihilated several enemy field armies before however. But it had waay too much cavalry to defend a siege and most of those were Border horse for chasing down routers. I also had some Knights Hospitaller. So, uhh, they came, and guess what, due to some weird glitch, they didn't shoot down the walls completly but stop at 90% or so. I think they ran out of ammo but I dunno. So, they rush to the various ladders and towers the main stack had, but they didn't know that I had already repelled that stack, with horrible losses So I quickly sent all the men guarding the square and the flanks (as the two stacks were on the flanks) to the main gate and managed to push them out of France!

Lost 800, they lost 3000. And bye bye chevrons for me... But still...

I got my princess married to milanese general(the stealing way) and he was alone near bern(just his bodyguard unit) and I sieged it with him. It was rebel and had a garrison of 200 soldiers(Spearmen and peasant archers), just with the general bodyguard I killed 100 of them and all that was left in my unit was my family member. I was near the plaza and in the plaza were 2 units of spearmen(about 100). I charged and withdrew again and again and managed to kill all of them to get a Heroic victory! Just with my family member.

4 full peasants against 2 feudal knights.

    Guess who routed first?

    ================
    Defending:

    Using French against Mongols.

Grand Bombard knocked out two siege towers, cannon towers lit the ram on fire, and my crossbowmen took care of the ladders.

    Casualty: 4% versus 98%.

Scots don't have peasants. We have highland rabble! When I played SS 1 as Scotland, Norway attacked and they were easier to defeat than the stinking rebels in England that had huge stacks of advanced soldiers after the English had been defeated.

When I won a clear victory when defending against enemy (crusaders)that besieged me, they don't have catapult or trebuchet, so I attack them by using my cannon towers considering they have far range. No one form my army died, but all the enemy died.

My most astonishing victory, was when the venetians invaded in the grand campaign and besieged Constantinople. I thought for sure it would fall. I only had a few units of spearmen, standard infantry, and one unit of fresh Varangian that I had recruited last turn. When push came to shove, they breached the wall two times, with two diffrent armies. The standard infantry were slaughtered, some spearmen survived. But in one street, my Varangians managed to hold three units of Italian Spearmen, and kill the enemy general. The army routed and I captured some 1500 venetians.

playing as England last night. I am currently in year 1325 and have held Jerusalem for quite some time. Over the years I have kept a large army stacked there in the event that Fatamid attacked me.

Full hospitallers became quite costly, so I sent off my army to help in the French campaign. I resupplied Jerusalem with mostly levi spearmen with a few feudal knight calvary units and 4 catapults with no general.

Fatamid sent in 2000+ men and i just knew I was dead. They held the siege for quite some time which caused my units to be depleted about 25%. When the battle finally began, I was determined not to go down without a fight.

i left a couple of units up by the towers and immediately rushed the rest out the front gates. luckily for me, they had no heavy siege equipment, just ladders, towers and rams. although I lost all of my catapults, the fear that was struck into their hearts was massive. the flaming shots were more than enough to shaken the enemy force which my mopped up as they fled.

when the dust settled, I attempted to ransom the captured for 7500 florins. although they rejected the ransom, I have no doubt they will be back.
