I always liked the Greyjoys even from A Game of Thrones. I felt they were never given a chance to try, and now I play endless campaigns as them conquering. I thought Theon was smart at the beginning but when he stayed in Winterfell I liked him less, but I felt terrible to hear what was happening at the Dreadfort.

Anyway, fellow Ironborn, post!

Oh, and will the unique generals also have strat map models or only battle map?

Not sure. At the moment they have normal strat map models, but making unique ones should be pretty easy..

Well what do you mean by normal? Do you mean they still have vanilla strat map models, or that they have new general strat map models (Like the new Dorne general)?

Greyjoy's my favourite faction, in both the books and the card game (used to play w/ a stealth/unopposed deck, using 3-icon characters and stuff like support of harlaw a lot lol).

Asha being my favourite (and Cleftjaw, who's her follower, right?), followed by either Damphair or Victarion (Euron's rather 'creepy', methinks...tho' his card is rather useful in CCG....if you can afford to bring it out during play lol).

Anyone else betting that the squid thingy on their banners is really Cthulhu?

I liked the Greyjoy's as written as the books, not because I like them per say......but I think they are well written, and have a great story, and unique culture.

Personally I can't stand most of them except Asha, but they are very intersing to read about. I love the Starks, and after what happened to Winterfell I was in a rage for days.......but having people you loath with a passion is a complement to how well written the story is.

So I am a fan of how the Ironborn are being written.......but I would kill most of them happily

I like the Starks, too, and was annoyed w/ what happened to Winterfell as well: not only because it ruined the Starks' home, but primarily because it was a stupid move on Theon's part (even if the Dreadfort's forces had not turned against him). It was too far from the coast to realistically support (logistics and all that), plus his force wasn't exactly large enough to allow for flexibility in terms of what he can do after taking that location.

I actually like the motto. Tho' I do agree with the implications (i.e., short-sightedness): as it is, they seem more suited to play the role of raiders, rather than conquerors. Hence why my favourite is Asha: she seems more 'flexible' in her mindset than her uncles (plus her card in the CCG is really useful, esp. the Ice and Fire version ).

Dang. I really need to read the books again.

Their culture is interesting, anyway. I DO like their faith. Much more interesting than that stupid Seven-Facettes-Of-God-Religion of the Andals.

I find the Greyjoys and Ironborns to be so short-sighted. Take their motto, 'we do not sow'. When you've finished killing all the people who do sow, what do you then do?

They're well written though, except I just can't figure out why we need POVs from almost the entire Greyjoy family.
