Default Similar mods for TW games with different timespans?

I have BI, ALX, Medieval II Kingdoms, and Empire, but none of them can even come close to competing with EB. I wanted to ask the EB fans, are there any mods for the other TW releases that have the same goals as EB does? The historical accuracy, the factional/regional recruitment system, the gameplay changes, etc. etc. Have mods from any other TW release tried to copy EB, but for the Migration/Medieval/Imperial timeframe?

Invasio Barbarorum comes closest. There are some very good mods out there, but IMHO none that has the same depth as EB.

Yep, Invasio Barbarorum is this mod but set in 4\5th century AD.

Other than that, nope, not really.

Yes, there are very good mods such as Broken Crescent, Baltic Total War etc. But all of them are regional campaign so there is no great total conversion modification for M2TW yet. But Dominion of the Sword mod project is aiming to this, here is the mod's link:

umm... excuse me? Broken Crescent is just regional campaign? sure, they just cover a third portion of EB map, but then, M2TW vanilla campaign is also mere regional campaign by this definition...

Yes, you probably right. But I always want a map that covers Spain from Persia and Scandinavia from Arabia with maximum realism for all factions in the game.

in non fantasy genre... only EB had them... (I know several other mods are doing that ... nearly, but never covers as much as EB covers)

but then, middle earth comes in mind...

I'd like to open this up to the more general question:

What mods for RTW and M2TW are worth playing, period? I can do without serious focus on realism, I just want the game itself to be well made - it could ninjas and pirates versus aliens and predators as long as it was well made and balanced. I've played Realism Total War and didn't care for it much, although I only gave it about 3 hours of my time. Middle Earth Total War was novel in a big way with its orc units but that same novelty made it a little dull after about 6 hours - I stillenjoyed it for all that time, and would recommend it to others. One thing I really liked was the diversity in archer units, who all had widely different damage potentials and more importantly ranges, so that elite Gondoran longbowmen had twice the range as orc archer levies - and these ranges are listed in unit descriptions. All mods could take a page from that.

So what other mods have you guys enjoyed, which are good enough to really even distract you from EB.

Thing is, Rome total war is really the only game that makes sense when it comes to huge empires clashing each other.

It's not hard to make ways to represent Romans, Celts, Carthaginians, Seleucids, Parthians, Macedons and such controlling and subduing conquered populations, because they did that historically.

On the other hand, having Portugal conquer Italy and installing a type II government in Naples is silly. That's just silly. The consequence is that regional recruits go down the drain. Can you recruit your Venetian warhammer folks on Greece? No? Okay, then have fun only recruiting crap militias there, because that's what most mods do.

The problem isn't really EB being good or other mods being bad, it's just that times time frame allows for varied and compelling regional governments and auxiliaries, not so much in the medieval or posterior eras.

Actually they install type III govt in Melacca, Timor, etc, and rarely use type IV gov't unless the client ruler got "Christian" trait

Rise of Persia, Aristeia, FRRE, and IB. I don't really play anything for M2TW. I have SS installed, but I haven't played it in a while.
