Icon5 Being attacked but they're not attacking?

I'm being attacked but the enemy is just standing there, do I need to start putting on time limits or something because if I charge it is to their advantage...

Do you have a cheat activated by using the ~ key?
Have you modded your current campaign?
    Is it a siege?
Is it an open field battle?
    What difficulty is it on?

lol, sorry for all the questions. I just really want to help. lol

I'm not using any cheats or mods, I was laying siege and then retreated when they brought in a second army...I retreated to a bridge and would like to defend the bridge because if I charge them I have no chance...my army is almost 100% spears....

Oh and they're like just moving around in circles, changing positions but just going from one to the other back and forth..I am gonna try it again now and see what happens.

First off, please don't post multiple posts at a time, instead just edit you first post & add what you have to add.

What I suggest you do is send a unit of skirmishers over to the enemy & the enemy will engage in battle & come after your entire army after your skirmishers play with them for awhile. lol

I sort of tried that with ranged calvary and after their archers pwned them the rest of their army kept sitting and waiting until I ran across the bridge to die.

The funny thing with bridge battles is that they can make no sense at all. For instance I once held off a full army of gauls with a unit of triarii 2 principes and 2 hastati. But they did come to me across the bridge. Your going to have to sacrificed some men to get them to attack you unfortunetly. Otherwise the AI will camp all day. So I would say move to units across the bride engage then withdraw. the ai is likely to follow them across the bridge with a full charge so be prepared.

That's basically what I did but with ranged cavalry and they didn't make it back before they died so there was no one to follow...maybe it will work better with a melee unit as the lure.

Newly I defended a bridge with a small army, but the enemies just started walking into the river and drown seriously 80%of their army suicided ?!?!
and they had 3000 men and I had 1000 or 900 lol So they could just slaugther my army ?!?!
