    Default Artillery movement on new terrain map

    Downloaded the new map mid campaign, great improvement so far, only cant seem to move arty units in wooded areas, there were "bald" patches on most wooded map where u could place arty, since the upgrade its impossible to move arty anywhere on the map, even if there are places with no trees etc. Anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

    Its a problem with the new map, There are some improvements that are coming, but in sieges you will have to wait to the siege begins to move with ease. Also you shouldnt use Arty in Field battles anyway, it was done in real life.

    I am working on improvements to the map including not as many big hills, for now enjoy the new map and get use to it, improvements will come.

    Just to confirm movement problem exists on siege maps too, you can target towers and walls and the siege engine will move toward target untill its in range then opens fire, but you cannot pre position arty b4 battle or tell it to move to any location during a battle!
    Is there anyway to roll back to previous maps untill a patch is done on these new maps?
    And why wasnt it tested? SPQR has a rep of being bug free and well tested.

    Its a flaw with the map itself, I do not know for sure if there is a FIX. I get around by just doing the placement when the battle starts. It has something to do with the Forest tile layout.

    So its not so much a bug as a possible none fix item. To fix the map to roll back is easy, just Install SPQR 7.0 over it and then the addon if you use it. I am giving a person a Choice whether they wish to use or not. after all the original map had issues in others areas also.

    I am planning to improve the Map and hopefully fix the problems. I have to have people play it to find issues though I didnt make the map RS team did.

    BTW, also not ALL cities are effected by this problem, just out patavium for example siege engines move fine there. So its limited to certain areas, though I am working to find a solution for all cities. RTW isnt the greatest engine to play with. lol

    I just staged a pretty big invasion into Greece...I feel like a goon. It seems like the Greeks like to use ballista and my cavalry just end up shearing through them like wheat as they piddle around the field. So far it's only been two out of three non-city battles that I've seen them having problems, I remember once they had their artillery moving around the field without much problem it seemed.

    On a side note, the new maps down around Greece are beautiful!

    Yeah...I should have thought about that as it was happening. I'll keep my eyes open for pics as I push out from Salona.

    Newer map is coming that fixes all these issues. Dont worry, there always has to be a beta.
