    Default 0-turn Versus 1-turn

Ok so im a major total war fan and ive played RS for a year at least now however im not sure if im won over by the 0-turn recruitment. i play on h/vh settings which im told is the hardest and im constantly going up against full stacks of enemies this was at fist cool but now im fighting so many battles a turn it kinda takes the fun out of it. i dont feel any satisfaction in delivering a hammer blow to my enemies anymore. and also i get very attached to legions and i love to keep one as "my own" this however is hard as i constantly have to bring legions back to be re trained, my point here is that i am considering changing the recruiment time to one, then going into the data file to change the named and numbered legions to zero,i would do this as i read somewhere on one turn it would technically take 9 and a half years to build a legion ( the fact that led me to zero turns) so zero turns is more realistic and my aim is to make it more roman orientated this would be good as it would still be a chalange but it would not becom tedious witht the same fight happening every turn, also i have looked at century X's stuff and he plays a realyu detailed campaign which id love to mimic. any opinions on this?

You might also want to try one of the submod that increase recruiting price.
That way, you'd still have the 0 turn gameplay, but with far less stacks.

My opinion is that both 1 turn and 0 turn offer their share of problems, and none solve any.

In the end, i prefer fighting less stacks (1 turn) in real battles, than pressing the autoresolve button 20 times per turn.

I prefer 1 turn simply because I hate AI's stack spam in mid and late game. I'd rather play fewer, more decisive battles per turn than tons of - as Siegfriedfr said - autoresolved irrelevant ones. It makes each battle seem somewhat historical and important, so 1 turn works for me, in mid and late game at least.

I am of the opposite position. Without 0 turn i feel that the mid-late game is a pointless waste of time. There is no drama and i never ever feel outnumbered or outclassed. 1-turn is also too bloody slow for me. With 0 turn i can create a legion in 2 turns, while in 1 turn it takes the better part of forever.

    Just my 2 cents though.

I have played both in the last few months , I like 0 just because it feels more realistic to me .

I'm a fan of 1-turn myself. Once beta is finished I'm going to work on a submod to base recruitment on the quality of the troop. Or, if it's possible, introduce a recruitment queue like M2TW and keep everything 0-turn but limit the output of a city on the size of it. I like the latter option, but I don't know if it's possible. But, in theory, cities like Rome would have 6 (arbitrary number for now) queue slots whereas cities like Carthage, although large, would only have 4 to represent their fear of committing too many citizens to a land campaign.

The only problem I see with that thought, as of now, is that cities can grow incredibly fast in this mod and so if it's based on population alone there would probably still be a lot of stacks. But I don't know, maybe 6 queue slots would be optimum instead of 9.

    Thats an awesome idea Velico!

....however i mentioned to dvk and the lads who did RS about incorporating other recruitment systems and unfortunately the recruitment system is very much hard coded and does not allow for the mtw2 or even Etw style recruiting to be added in.
Hence why the introduced the 0 turn 1 turn system it was the best and most balanced way they could see for making RS balanced.

...i was also gutted when i found out...

I think that rising the prices mod , will be easier to do and as efficient , because im quite sure that sadly , what you are talking about ( the reduce of queue slots ) is impossible
