Default Age of Dragons Total War

    Hello TW Center,

Today I am opening up a new WIP for a mod I am thinking about. Yes, I may have stopped progress to Guild Wars Total War and Three Continents Total War, but that was because I was still learning. Now, I hope to create a mod where all of my modding skills will come together. I would greatly appreciate if anyone here could help me with the work.

    The Setting:

Long ago, dragons ruled the world of Menkar. They fought with the many races for control of Menkar. Then one day, humans from another land sailed in. They slowly settled in and tried to have peace with the dragons. For many long years this peace endured and the human civilization prospered. But, some humans severely wanted power and riches, so, they tried to loot everything from the dragons treasure trove. This angered the dragons and so started a huge war. The eldest of the dragons uncovered a dark scroll from the depths of their ancient library and remembered the art of necromancy. Now, the dragons created a huge army from the depths of the Earth. Thousands of warriors marched out from their sacred mountain of Gul Faran. The timing was bad due to the fact that the human kingdoms split apart, in order to to see who succeeds to the throne. Now, the human civilization faces a challenge: They must face civil war and the dragon army. But, the many races of the land have not forgotten about this, and have used the time to wreak revenge against the dragons by allying with some of the human kingdoms. It is time to help save the human civilizations and either negotiate peace with the dragons, or destroy them! What will your choice be?

    Factions:

    1) The Kingdom of Narlog: These are the ones who are loyal to the evil General Narlog ( now King of his empire ). They have managed to establish a huge kingdom by the sea and are creating mass navies to attack the dragons. They have mountains around them so that they can manage to create their armies while only needing to control a few mountain passes. Narlog is the first one who thought that sacking the dragons treasure trove would greatly benefit his empire. Now he has many followers who seek riches. His armies consist mostly of mercenaries and pirates who seek to benefit from the dragon's wealth.

    2) The Kingdom of Aldern: The followers of their great king Aldern who is the true one of the royal bloodline. His kingdom is situated in a valley north of the Kingdom of Narlog where resources are plentiful. The only problem his kingdom faces is that the Creatures of the Wood to the north constantly threaten his borders as they try to expand out of the forest in-search of resources. His royal troops will stop at nothing to achieve peace with the dragons and destroy the General Narlog.

    3) The Kingdom of Karlan: The followers of the General Karlan constantly wage war against The Kingdom of Narlog. They are also threatened by the Realm of the Dead. This General believes in a highly militarized society of highly organized men. Karlan's many castles prevent invasion from the Realm of the Dead who are trying to break through into their Kingdom and scavenge armor, weapons, and more from the battlefield.

    4) Creatures of the Forest: These creatures used to cower in the dark of the forests in the world of Menkar. When the humans came they lost much of their forests to industrialization and are now trying to reclaim their land and lay their paws on the resources the Kingdom of Aldern has.

    5) Realm of the Dead: This is the realm where the dead men of old lie. The dragons destroyed their kingdom and as the king read through a dark scroll of necromancy, all the dead men that the dragon had slain, had come to life. Anyone who dares enter the domain of the dead would certainly die and join the ranks of the dead's army. They constantly seek to revenge the dragons and are now trying to destroy the Kingdom of Karlan to get a hold of their bustling ports where they can construct a fleet to attack the dragons. They are in league with the Kingdom of Narlog who also wishes to destroy the dragons.

    6) The Tribes of Forgen: There are many small tribes in this wasteland. It is a desert of scorching temperatures where there is barely any life. Cities are found close to oases. The Tribes of Forgen are constantly trading with the Realm of the Dead for the plunder that the Dead have received for war. In return this civilization constantly give the Realm of the Dead sacrifices so that the Dead's armies never fall.

    7) Skarmen: These men of the north live in the coldest part of the world of Menkar. They control their mountain range and travel through subterranean paths carved out under the mountains to burn, loot, and pillage other kingdoms. The Skarmen have once dug so deep in the ground that they had found an entire kingdom of demons living beneath their feet. Now the demons supply them with their services in return for more plunder.

    8) The Dragons: The elder dragon has now spawned a huge army and is raiding the coasts of Narlog. They want to reclaim their world from the treacherous humans. The dragons are so put up with the evil humans that they now even seek to destroy ALL humans, not just the Kingdom of Narlog.

NOTE: Water color to be changed and coastline to be smoothed.

Note: More civilizations might be added.

I can take care of mapping for now but later I will need help with 3D modelling, scripting, skinning, and more. If anyone seems interested please do not hesitate to PM me for more information.

    Thanks for your time.

It looks nice so far. Did you make up the lore or was this a pre-existing thing?

Well. I more or less made up the lore. I am a big fan of making up my own mods because my imagination can create anything it wants and I do not have to sit and research tons of lore/history. I can wake up and say, hey!, I want to add this or that. Note: Another preview coming of the Kingdom of Narlog and its terrain soon!

nice! Russian, call me un inspired or just plain dull but I am into mods which may be fantasy but are based in some human historical context like my very first WIP "Kingdoms Of Aflluence" about a similiar species during thier own medieval history on a different planet

Here is the valley where the Kingdom of Narlog resides. I will add a bit more regions and change the color of the terrain in the long run. I might also make the mountains more ridged and lessen the amount of high mountain terrain. Enjoy!

Hmmm, I'd help you with Guild Wars: Total War if you would ever like to re-open that idea in the future. I have strong knowledge since I've played it since first release, many years ago. XD

Some ideas that popped into my head... eventually perhaps there could be three different 'custom' campaigns, one for Tyria, Cantha and Elona.. but I'd suggest creating Tyria first..

But yeah ^^ let me know ^^

Well. I thought of that too but Cantha would never work out. How the heck do you create terrain that looks like a city? Afterall, over half of Cantha is a city....

Well. I am going to Australia. I am also playing Starcraft 2. Once I kick a few Diamond League players I will be back to modding.

    Hey everyone.

I am still taking a break from actual modding so now I will make unit rosters!

First: Lets get some of the dragons necromantic demons to step forward.

    CORPSE UNITS

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Low Quality Unit Types:

Zombies - These are all that remain from the corpses of the near dead. Those whose graves have been defiled to early by the necromancy. These troops are rumbling heaps of bones and flesh which only seek to destroy.
Skeletons - These are more of the ancient remains from the dead. Once they heave over to the surface they rattle down the roads. Their spine creeping rattle can be heard while they are on the march.

    Medium Quality Units Types:

Dead Knights - All that remain from many battles are walking horrors of metal armor. These walking corpses are quite hard to kill but do not deal too much damage for their weapons are rusted and old.
Dead Pirates - The corpses of the many dead pirates. These ragged wreckages fumble around with old gunpowder making a nasty shock troop.

    High Quality Unit Types:

Dead Nobles - The few dead nobles and their bodyguard. These are the walking corpses of elite soldiers who still have not lost their skill in battle.
Dead Royal Guard - The best necromantic corpses available. There are very few of these Guards but they make a fearsome opponent!

    DRACONIC UNITS

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Low Quality Unit Types:

Whelps - Small drakes who cannot breathe fire but can make a mess of their enemy with their razor sharp claws and pointy teeth in their deadly maw.

    Medium Quality Unit Types:

Drakes - Medium sized drakes are a bit larger than whelps but not as large as true dragons. They may breathe fire and turn entire squads of enemy soldiers into toasted suits of armor.

    High Quality Unit Types:

Dragons - The dragons themselves are rarely seen on the battlefield, but when they come out to fight, they are a deadly site to behold. Standing many times larger than a man they can breathe huge infernos of fire toasting entire armies at a time. They most feared by the humans.

    SPIRIT DRACONIC UNITS

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Low Quality Unit Types:

Spirit Whelps - Some few whelps were turned into spirits during the necromancy and are much stronger than their normal kin. They can deal damage to the enemy but their spirit needs to be completely mashed up and destroyed to kill them making them extremely hard to kill.

    Medium Quality Unit Types:

Spirit Drakes - The few spirits of drakes. More or less have the same effect as spirit whelps but these can breathe an unholy frost fire which freezes the enemy in their tracks rattling them with frost.

    High Quality Unit Types:

Spirit Dragons - The spirits of dragons become larger and stronger. They usually roam the land, invisible to all, but with the necromancy, they have become seen and materialized in their spiritual essence. They can wipe out hole villages with their breathe of plague and frost.

    MORE UNIT TYPES TO COME!

You guys are driving me crazy with your support for Guild Wars/Guild Wars 2 mod. Since a lot of people have been PMing me to close this one and continue the Guild Wars one. Yet another, project abandoned. Well, sorry about this guys. I cannot manage too much on my own. So..... at least I have some people to help me for the Guild Wars mod.

Thanks. The new Warhammer map is freaking huge and contains a lot more water. I must cry more as I am smoothing out coastlines...
