    Default Family life and TW

How does RTW, and TW games in general, affect your family life.....

Me and my wife are expecting our first child in a couple of months. In between some DIY in the babies room, doctors appointments and of course my job, I try to get in a couple of hours of RTW. At the moment wednesday is my day off work, so a couple of hours weekly are guaranteed, but what to do when the baby comes......

I'm curious about your thoughts and experiences....

Congrats on having your first child! I'm guessing that when the baby comes you may have less time for RTW....

Congratulations with the baby, mate. Remember, as soon as he can speak, start teaching him how to play

Congrats DAD! remember that human life, and..dare I say it...real life is more important than RTW.

Uh oh. DO you know what the admins will do to me now!?

And so began the largest manhunt in Total War History.

Passing on to describe the way in which Napoleon employed ‘principles’ or ‘ingredients’ for the prosecution of War, it must from the outset be understood that his strategical and tactical systems followed no closely ruled pattern. Every operation was unique; no two were ever quite the same. However, the underlying every Campaign and battle were certain fundamental, which were applied according to circumstances.

Hi MM, all the best for the last stages of the pregnancy. My wife and I have had our first child 10 months ago.
Imagine, I only discovered the TW series in her 3rd month. Played MTW, then RTW and benefitted from the fact that she slept a lot , so I could play in the evenings and Sat/Sun mornings.

Since the baby has been born, I have taken on the "early morning shift" in the weekends. The only time I normally play (Apart from when she was pregnant) are the weekend mornings anyway. When our little one was very small, he was sleeping most of the time, so the morning shift was easy. Now, he's a bit older and crawls around when I am playing. When he is bored and wants my attention, then, of course, I play with him instead of the PC.

To sum it up: you can still play, but less, and definitely less focussed.

On the other hand: I can't wait for him to be old enough to play with me , my wife is not so much into it.

Ask yourself this: do you really need a family if you have a TW game?

Best wishes for the kid! Great news! I always find time to fit games into my life. A couple of hours every couple of days at the moment.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the congratulations, of course I'm extremely excited for the birth of our first child.
I use the time my wife sleeps for RTW as often as a can.

Can't wait for him/her to grow old enough to play TW with.... I'm wondering what TW title will we play?
    What do you think?

it actually happened before. The Sith that trained me trained his own son from age six. he began heroicing adults very shortly after that and ODIN's story about Enstantane's reaction when he found out he got heroiced by a toddler stays amusing.
Did i mention Enstantane started using modded armies after that? heheheh

Congrats! When the baby is born, try playing RTW (with the music volumn pumped up) to sooth him/her to sleep. If that works, you will have a great reason to play all the time.

I actually am not Macedonian. I just visited the country and thought it was cool. Plus, Macedon is one of my favorite factions to play as in RTW. Sorry for the bad news...
