why is there such a small timelimit by the game? by the time the 8th turn warning came i just conquered peidmont sardinia and made it a protectorate? and the campaign is also so easy to win, you can just take an army on the first turn and conquer Kalenbrugfurt

    You got the wrong game...

If your not intrested in conquering Italy, the immersion etc...there has to be some level of seriousness when playing.

Sure you can just march to Klagenfurt but that isnt what the campaign is about.
Plus you'd be skipping all the other missions like Ancona (SUPER HARD WTF?!!!!!!) and Venice and Milan and Modena etc.

And I think if anything its the best out of the 3 campaigns BECAUSE the pace of it, you have to be constantly campaigning, constantly advancing.

Ancona is not a nation. Its part of Papal States.

I really like the Italian Campaign, I like the small narritive driven campaign, I find it the most fun to play

    Cheers, MB

But the European campaign is much more tactical and grand!

Well, played it historically. It's impossible for Napoleon to take his army and skipped all of the Austrian armies and take Klagenfurt, because the Italian front will be practically broken and the French republic was ruined. Try to follow every mission and hold your starting territories. I'll bet it will be hard for you just to to hold Milan, Parma, Modena, and Mantua.

You can play beyond the limit if you did not make it in time,
though when completing final objective it will end as usual.

    But won't get achievement

I tend to start my European Napoleon campaign with a mini campaign through Italy. Usually after a few turns of building up my economy I take my starting armies and march through Italy as a warm up for the real battles with the austrian and prussian armies. Its a nice way to get a few chevrons for your troops as well.

I share the topic starter sentiment and would like to see a no time limit option for campaign.

Just got the game a few days a go and lost my Italy campaign because there wasn't enough turns.
Kept on playing until Austria capitulated(sued for peace)

Also, one way is to use mods. What decreases unit recruitment time. Think Napoleon managed to do it with this time, and you wont even in game?

Well, you can easily increase they amount of turns per year. (It's currently 24)
This can be done by down loading the esf editor found here
And by following the tutorials here
    Hope this helps!
