Who else is bummed about this?!
Rome!!!!!!!!!
..shogun
Who else is bummed about this?!
me FFS!! I dont care about some obscure japanese feudal crap..What were they thinking? Dont they wanna make the most money out of us..well well, guess we were to be in for a semi fantasy game with burning pigs and chariot riding "return of the mummy" egyptians..not to mention the chanting priest unit(snicker) yet again..but still!
plus they probably will make Rome 2 next to impossible to mod so they can milk us for every penney for various expantions..but nevertheless im bummed..screw japan..

I knowwwwwwwwww, but the gap between ETW and NTW was kind of small, hopefull the gap between STW and RTW will be small tooo
but RTW with the enhanced diplomacy and AI and supply system as NTW would be unbelievalbe
the game of the year just like it was when the first one came out

Someone...
I never had the privilege to play Shogun and never played MTW, NTW, or ETW, so having the reincarnation of the very first and an era I hadn't played yet is pretty darn cool.
ROME for sure, a must have for me!
Although I'll probably give S2TW a try, never played Shogun before....and I own every TW game that came out since MTW, need to keep the collection complete right.....
For R2TW the supply thing from NTW will be a great addition..... for the time being will play RTW vanilla..... just returned to it a week ago, hooked straight away![]()
I enjoyed Shogun, sure it was primitve ect ect ect. But it was finely balenced. Personally seeing Shogun, with a family tree, general development, traits ect. Should bring it properly up to bar with the rest of the series. Mods or not. Mod's do not nessacarily break a game and if you've been reading the relevant threads about the modability.
CA has never provided direct support for modding unlike many other games. The only reason why it was possible to do in the first place was because it was all the stats and variables have been on .txt files. The only support CA has given the community at all mod wise, was the unpacker tool for M2 which even then someone would have eventually hacked one together, Modding on TW has always started with 'hacking' the game files to create a new set of data. I agree that the change to DLC isn't smart. But that doesn't mean it will be impossble to mod. You only have hype and speculation to believe. No point in nay saying until it's actually on the market and PROVEN not to be moddable.
Rome of course, I'm not going to buy STW2.
I don't mind that Shogun has been announced really. A different TW game altogether would have interested me more to be honest, but oh well, I'm still looking forward to it.
edit: I think there will be a Roman era based mod for S2TW so don't worry about it really, your time will come, just a bit after the release and maybe without the MP community but with better graphics, realism and gameplay as mods tend to offer.

When did you become interested in politics?
The very instant I became old.
I'd prefer shogun now than rome. It will allow them to make Rome better after spotting flaws just like Napoleon and Empire tw.
Rome, but i need to buy a new computer then
Edit:
but Rome Total War has still acceptable (or how do i typ that) graphics.
and Shogun Total War really needs an Upgrade,
so yeah Rome is better but Shogun needs it more.
I say RTW II all the way! Surely they can't screw up a 2nd RTW if RTW is one of the greatest TW games they have created!
We don't need a Rome 2 yet because the original is awesome enough!
