    Default RTW windows 7

I have recently got a new machine running windows 7 and have noticed that when I change the user access control for the administrator I lose my save games until I set it back to the same level.

Is this a common complaint on windows 7, and if so how do you fix it if you change your access level?

Also when I have unit size on huge I am getting slowdown in siege battles, which I think is unacceptable considering my system (see below), does anyone have any clue how to stop the stuttering while one huge unit size in siege battles. I am using high anti-aliasing if that helps anyone with the solution

    AMD Phenom 3.4ghz
    8gb corsair 1333mhz ram
    1.5 TB HDD
    ATI 5870 Radeon 2gb
    1 x DVD-ROM
    1 x DVD R/W
    850W PSU

    Thanks

What version of Windows 7 do you have, and is it 64-bit or 32-bit.

    I'm running a similar rig to yours, except I've a 5670 1Gb card, and Windows 7 (64) Home edition.

YES I originally whacked up all the graphics settings to their HIGHEST possible, but had slow down while panning across a city... Having used KillzoneGB's render mods for Napoleon previously, I used this experience to quickly TURN OFF AA, which immediately solved the problem.. I've now set a few of the graphics' settings a little lower... grass and buildings... (don't matter) but keep Unit graphics to HIGHEST still... and all is running very well.

    Hope this helps you.

I disabled the UAC before I nstalled anything but the OS. I then gave my login ownership of C: drive and all child files and folders as far as Windows would let me. Then I installed the rest including chipset drivers, firewall/antiviros, games, utilities, and I have no problems with Win 7 64 bit.

Graphics settings are to me a personla choice and my 9800GT 512mb card does fine with it.

If you were playing RTW without UAC off or you installed to the standard folder (c:\program files (x86)) then your saves and any other changes (preferences etc) will be in the 'virtual store' or 'appdata' area. This can be found by runnin8g %appdata%.

I think you will have to change your folder options to 'show hidden folders and files' in order to see it.

I'd suggest the best way forward is to install the game to your own program files folder - that way the saves etc will be in the games folder and not buried somewhere else.

As with the other posters I've had no problems running RTW on a Windows 7 system (Home Premium 64 bit).

If it worked on XP, it should on Win 7.

Disable the UAC and try installing http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en. Restart your computer, then try Rome.

Try using the -nm switch. This stops movies playing.

For information on how to put a switch on the shortcut target properties have a read of this: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=62217

Then the game is getting past the movies and won't load the game itself?

Have you tried updating your graphics drivers?
Have you installed .Net framework 4?
Have you run Windows Update manually and installed all software updates so you know you are up to date?
Have you tried reinstalling the game after all this?
