if your game has a missing/damaged file the you can go to Steam

right click in your games library on ETW, properties, local files, verify intergrity of game cache, which will then download the damaged/missing files

Note if you have made changes to other files and want to keep them I would make a copy of them and put them in a seperate directory until steam has finished
