Napoleonic Total War?

Before I bought this game, I thought it would be similar to Empire with no focus point and a grand campaign. I was wrong Napoleon is totally tailored to Napoleon and his life. Now, I'm not saying this is bad, merely stating the facts. Anyway, I was wondering did anyone else think this? Or does anyone think that it would be better that way? I'm pretty satisfied with the game now, just wondering about everyone else's opinion.
Now, back to playing....

I think CA did a pretty good job before the release explaining that Napoleon total war was to revolve around the life of Napoleon and his efforts not the period in general. I guess a larger map would be interesting, but i don't really miss it all that much in Napoleon, it would only lead to absurdities like Marathas invading Ireland or something.

But yeah, I agree Napoleon is a very good game and deserves to be praised and despite it's short comings in map size I think it's ONE of the best total wars so far!

Indeed this came as no surprise on this end either that the game was tailored in such a way.The fact that it was called Napoleon:Total War and Not Empire:The Napoleonic wars or Empire:The Wars of Napoleon was signal enough for me as to what was in store.This being said seeing as I feel Napoleon and his war machine are indeed the most important aspects of this era it suits me rather nicely

I agree, things such as wrong flags and the like, but what else is missing apart from that and some events which were not so relevant to Napoleon?

The game was called 'Napoleon: Total War' NOT 'Napoleonic Total Wars.'


So I always thought it would be following the life of Napoleon
