    Default William Wallace

I noticed in the campaign script (Too my utter enjoyment!) That william wallace has two or three checks for an appearence. Since I dont write script I did not competlely understand, but it seems that at turn 70 if I have 2 or less territories with scotland and are at war with england, he appears, and at a later turn if I have 4 or less and am at war with england he appears. Also, one applied to my original capital being under siege? which I didnt understand. If anyone could confirm this actually is implemented, and explain it some more, I would be delighted

And at the same time you make me happy for knowing the answer, is it wrong to be so disapointed that my holding out against England will be rewarded by no saviour?

LOL! That's great signature material right there. Unfortunately, mine is already full.

It might be considered too much of an advantage that the human player doesn't really need. Of course, that mainly applies to the very vocal majority of players that complain about how they eat the AI for breakfast. Perhaps he should've been set to, by default, to appear for both the Player and the AI, and after a few lines deleted from the script he would only appear for the latter.

He appears also for the player at turn 70 when you have under 4 settlements or if you have under two or if you have 50 regions...

Ehhh not entirely true, unless its a % chance. I am well past turn 70 and only have 3 settlements, no William. And what do you mean by have 50 regions? When I get my 50th settlement he would spawn?

Or maybe on the harder difficulties he appears because they know im getting stomped?
England says 1 full stack at a time to siege my capital, but right after I defeat it the next one comes right away! Too much for me

I've only personnaly seen William Wallace spawn, but I was wondering if there were any other scripted events like this?

What 6.2 submod are you talking about? I don't remember there being any submod like that for SS6.2

I knew there was code for something like that! I guess I was too late though.. but that does mean I can expect him by turn 140! hopefully...

Its a great mod! You should check it out. It was ported to 6.2, sadly will soon need to be ported too 6.3.

He almost screwed my English campaign once. I usually get a marriage alliance with France to concentrate myself on conquering GB and Ireland. The Scots were reduced to just Inverness when Wallace apeared from nowhere, taking Aberdeen and besieging Edinburgh. Luckly I had my beloved Henry "The Merciless" Darnley coming back from assuming his Duchy of Normady and a good assasin rounding the Higlands. We repelled him at Edinburgh and the assasin took care of him when he retreated to Aberdeen. What happened next was the reason for Henry getting the "Vanquisher of the Scots" trait.

Thread necromancy here, just to give some light as I found this thread on Google and more people might be interested, yes it's possible for you to have William Wallace as human player, however, the English must be besieging Edinburgh (or your other capital, should you have it changed) and 4 or less regions.

The generic captain for Scottish armies always looks like that, which sort of annoys me. It's a bit incongruous that the unit officer for each unit is a swordsman with a surcoat over mail and a great helm or nasal helm, and the captain for the whole army is some chucklehead hillbilly from the Highlands, with only an anachronistic kilt and a cheap lamellar vest.
