so there wont be any Ilyrian or Thracian faction in EB II right?
really didipointing...
This could probably be covered in the other threads, but as far as I have heard there will not be any llyrian factions due to them not being strong/unified enough to warrant them over other factions... theres only so many factions they can have.
Oh gosh, not this topic again... For those not keeping up, and those who want to bring it up week after week, there hasn't been an official statement about any Illyrian factions. My general impression from team mamber comments is that if such a faction is included, it will not be "purely" Illyrian. Scordiscii would be the most likely choice, and they are at least partly Celtic. As far as I know, at this moment that is the closest thing to a final word on the matter.
In short, nobody knows.
I'm not familiar with the history of the Getai, but I've heard at least a few posters refer to them as a Thracian tribe or related to the Thracians.
Isn't spamming unnecessary threads a violation of the ToS?
There won't be any illyrian faction, that's all. Now stop spamming.
PS : We would need hundreds of faction slots if we wanted to please every nationalist arround here.
You could click on the EB II FAQ and scroll down five lines....
Q: What are the new factions that will be in EB2?
A: The full faction list has not been released yet. However, when enough content is developed for a new faction to warrant a preview, each faction will be announced one at a time and most if not all will be announce before the first release. Current list of released factions are: Pergamon, Bosporan Kingdom, Massylia (a Numidian tribe) & the Boii of central Europe.
And all EB I factions stay of course (though the Casse have been replaced with the Pritanoi).
Its common for nationalists types to associate with past cultures the same region to further glorify their own. You are from the region and repeately push for Illyrian or Thracian factions despite us repeatedly telling you why they are not good choices for factions, this is why.
Well since we are talking about factions
what about more interesting or historically important factions like the gallaeci or the belgae or some german tribe?
Have all been discussed about a dozen times in a dozen different threads before.
Now let this thread die. Thread number 13 about the same subject would be very unlucky.
For the Illyrians, it's not looking good for you if you're hoping for Bardyllis or some other king to be leading an Illyrian tribal faction. On the other hand, that is a region that will eventually see several new unique regional units.
You must know the EB II team has this dicussion since many years, and after a lot of advanced historical arguments, they have listed the factions for the 1.0 version. Now they work on, and they will not change the list, whatever fans do. Because they have take their decision, and already begun the work. One of the rules int he team is :"once something is decided, it's definitive". So the 1.0 factions are selected.
But I can add, without reveal something exceptionnal, that all the slots available won't be used directly in the 1.0 version, so the future versions could use additional factions if needed in terms of gameplay and history.
And I think you guys ought to be more than happy with the fact that we've released this information. For the Illyrians, it's not looking good for you if you're hoping for Bardyllis or some other king to be leading an Illyrian tribal faction. On the other hand, that is a region that will eventually see several new unique regional units.
This space intentionally left blank.
Well the Getai are a thracian factions
But donīt know if there will be an illyrian faction. The only one strong or should I better say important one were the Scordisci.
They could represent all the eastern celts on the balkans. Maybe even allowing to replay a second galatian invasion to greece and Asia minor. And it would be a good idea to have a faction separating Rome and Epeiros cause in my EBI campaigns they always clash on the area of modern Slovenia.
But as the Boii have been previewed already the space on the balkans gets tighter. Donīt know if there will be place enough for another faction. And it depends on the victory conditions of the Boii. When they have to conquer large parts of the balkans there might not be any other faction there.
I have a strong hunch the Scordisci will be in-game... The team denies them the least of all
I think this is the first time Slovenia was mentioned in the TWCEBI campaigns they always clash on the era of modern Slovenia.I'm so proud

This thread should be closed, we already have the other thread. It's mostly spam anyway.
