    Default Slave unit Silver Surfer

    I just found a slave unit Tuareg_Camel_Spearmen is missing its textures for the rider. I haven't edited this unit so I'm not sure how this came to be, I believe it was fine on previous installs.

    The unit in question is for Egypt and they don't have ownership in the EDU or EDB. So I'm assuming this is a recruited rebel unit. I've recently edited my edu, edb, and battle_models to allow recruiting of other faction units. I looked into the folders to see if it was the same process and it didnt appear to be so.

    If anyone has done this before I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

    A unit appear like a silver surfer when it has the owner ship of the unit in EDU but not in the BMDB file. Since u say it is for slave then check its entry in BMDB it should have slave for it.

    The EDU doesnt shows ownership as well. Yet Egypt is messed up.

    Yea i dont mind them having the unit. Its just the units Egypt have of this are silver. And I couldnt find a problem in the EDU, battle_models. Also the unit cards do not show up for this unit in game. I'm just asking how to fix it. I'm confused because the moors tuaregs are fine. I dont know how to fix the slave textures...

    Always remember that a unit if has a ownership for a unit in the EDU and doesn't have a entry for it in the BMDB file then the units will always appear silver coz u have not defined it's textures in the BMDB file.
    So change the BMDB entry to this:-

    Now this unit for Egypt won't appear silver and will have the proper textures that the moors use.

    As for the unit cards
    Finds these 2 files in the UI\unit_info and UI\units in the moors folder

    1. #tuareg_camel_spearmens.tga(in moors folder of units)
    2. tuareg_camel_spearmens_info.tga(in moors folder of unit_info)

    After that create 2 folder by the name Egypt and put them accordingly.
    File 1 will go here
    KCGM\data\ui\units\egypt
    File 2 will go here
    KCGM\data\ui\unit_info\egypt

    Reply asap.

    Thats the thing, it doesnt have ownership in the edu or edb. So I should need to edit the battle_models right?

    EDIT: I saw my typo in the second post of mine. I meant to say the edu and edb doesnt show owership for egypt, just the moors and slave. The battle_models have the moors and slave as owners as well. My problem is these slave units that were mercs for egypt show up silver.

    Problem: They are not set up for egypt in battle_models.

    Solution A: Remove egypts ownership in the EDU, and production capability in EDB.

    Solution B: Set them up for egypt in battle_models (if you can find some appropriate textures) and make a new unit card.

    So how would I fix a merc unit, whose faction isnt supposed to have ownership. Also I extracted the unit_info and unit card from vanilla. And Irfanview wont read them. They say they are .tga and Irfanview reads .tga, but i get this error: Cant read file header ! Unknown file format or file not found !

    To fix this u just have make sure that the merc attribute is there in the unit along with the ownership of the faction that recruits it in the EDU.

    Try GIMP it is also free and i suppose it also opens them.

    No it has nothing to do with full unpacking but maybe the software i gave u earlier for manual unpacking might have done improper extraction.But

    I put egypt and mercenary_unit into my edu. Went into a save game and crashed going into battle to see if it worked. Deleted Egypt and could go into battle still the units are silver.

    gimp said they were an unknown file type as well.

    I doubt it was the program.

    EDIT: My original game I bought, is missing a disc so I had to download what I'm using from a torrent. I would just uninstall everything then redo it step by step. But dling the torrent takes days, and I dont want to risk getting a virus/trojan.

    The game crashes as the save game is not compatible anymore.
    To solve the.tga file issue just unpack the game and put the original files somewhere safe in ur HDD. So u can get files when u want and how many times u want.

    I put egypt as having ownership back into the edu and started a new campaign. It didn't work, the tuareg's are still silver.

    If you want to use them as mercs then you need to set them up for merc in battle_models.
