What is the player limit in Napoleon total war multiplayer campaign? Me and my friends are planning to buy the game if like 4-6 people can lan the campaign each having their own nation etc. I couldn't find the answer anywhere else so I hope you can help me.

    Thanks.

Campaign is 1v1 only. In multiplayer battles you can have 4v4.

Aww, It would have been so awesome to play it with many friends. No way it could be modded?

And Y@$!N, I guess you're just not a lan person. I have had no such problems on lans i've been in. I've played civ etc. but as long as everyone acts mature there will be no problems.

Sadly, as others have already answered, the limit is 2 players. Given the rushed mentality of many of the people out there who do play multiplayer, this is fully understandable. Too many players are in such a rush to whip through their turns, that they get upset if you take any reasonable amount of time to fully play out your campaign game.

As an example, I had one person drop the game on turn 1, when I was doing my first turn's all important diplomatic exchanges. He was hosting the game, and had set an unlimited turn limit. I asked him if he had a connection problem and he stated that "No, I got bored." Sorry, but if your attention span is that limited, you should probably be playing something else, other than a Multiplayer Campaign game. At the very least, set a more limited turn length and make your preferences known in advance...

If the game allowed more than two players, then when a battle was being fought people of this ilk would probably drop the game, crashing it. I realize that a LAN party group probably wouldn't have this problem, but between the constant Steam disconnects, and the increasingly short attention span of much of the TW series target demographic, more than 2 players in a game would be more frustrating than it would be worth.

On the other hand, for those of us who like to savor their games, and the challenge that multiple human controlled factions would bring, it would be the Holy Grail of gaming.

I can belive that a large multiplayer campaign online is virtually impossible. Even in lan circumstances people would probably get bored so there has to be something else for the other people to do while each play their turn. (unfortunately drinking is out of the question , excessive drinking in one civ lan didn't turn out too well ^^)

The best case scenario would be to use only 2 computers. The first one would host the hot-seat campaign ( so everyone else can play fps or something else and keep a pause to go play his turn.) And when a human vs. human battle would happen the other computer would be used to that. I have no idea if this could work but It would be pretty ideal.
