    Default Experience in Forces/Commanders

Like the rest of you, I can't wait for RS 2.0's imminent release.

I was wondering about the way that the mod will represent soldier experience. RS 1.5 and most other mods make defense skill and attack statistics much higher than RTW vanilla, which means that the experience chevrons gained do not mean nearly as much.

With this in mind, I'd like to ask how RS 2.0 is going to implement experience and the like. We all know about the many campaigns and civil wars in which highly experienced armies and commanders, such as Julius Caesar's veteran legions, destroyed numerically superior counterparts that would otherwise be similarly equipped and trained.

Thanks again to the modders involved in crafting such a historically accurate and balanced mod. No game developer makes games that require half the strategy that mods such as RS do, and RS 2.0 appears to be better in this regard than any mod I have ever seen.

Basically, we've reduced figures of attack and defence across the board, so experience will mean more than it did in RS2 - that unit with a gold chevron and silver weapons and armour will be very worth-wile keeping alive!

It is also harder to get, so it means your troops EARNED it.

Excellent, I am glad to hear of it. I was sure that in such a thoroughly made mod that an important aspect like experience would not be overlooked.

If you don't mind my asking, how much lower are the attack and defense skill values in RS 2 than they were in RS 1.5 and 1.6? If I recall correctly the average Roman legionary had a defense of around 70 and an attack of around 40 in RS 1.5, with the vast majority of that defense, 40 or so, being from defense skill and the remaining 20 or so from armor.

I know the mod is likely only a couple of weeks away, but all the same it is a curiosity to me.
